Beckham nowhere all night. The minute Seedorf came on the game changed.

Most undeserved victory I've seen for a while. United played as though they had horses in defence for the entire first half, managed to dominate the briefest of 15 minute spells and that Seedorf goal was a true beauty. Part of me thinks this is all Tab Ramos' revenge...

The same could be said for Antonio Valencia too. 'United didn't really look threatening until he was introduced.

I think we were very lucky not to be 2 or 3 down before we got the equaliser. Having said that I turned to m8 and said if we score here, Milan will panic and we'll turn them over.

Rooney was magnificent and Van Der Sar makes me wish he was 30 again. Ronaldinho was mesmerising and if he fancies one last transfer to us before he calls it a day, I wouldn't get tired of watching him. How he can't get in the Brazil team in front of Robinho is beyond me.

I don't think Milan panicked,it was a case of being exhausted by playing such a high tempo in the first half.
Has there ever been an older side in top level football?
BTW was Gattuso injured?
Broadly they had a non-tackling midfield and Man Utd could walk through the middle at will.
For an Italian side the marking of Rooney was diabolical-no marking and no challenge.
Credit to Man Utd's greater energy but I don't think we saw the European Champions there last night and IMHO Barcelona,Chelsea,Inter and the improving Bayern Munich have much better chances.

Lol at me if you want - Rooney's definitely been overrated in this very thread. When he turned up, he was definitely world-class (though as usual I've seen few similar compliments for Darren Fletcher, who set up two of the goals), but had he not been scowling and gesticulating at Nani he would've been virtually invisible in the entire first half. Someone who disappears for half the match doesn't deserve the adjective 'magnificent', I'd say. As for Ronaldinho, he seemed to spend the match switching between the stunning player he was for that season or two and the fat mess he became in Italy. So I suppose, MaraudingDog, you're right - this crushing mediocrity interspersed with depressing reminders of former glory would make him an ideal United player these days.
