What a good start to the weekend.
Man Utd will now be focusing on their main target for the season, the Carling Cup.
Wayne Rooney -world class?
Not today he wasn't.

Rooney is world class. You're good at wind-ups. You wind me up and I'm a Liverpool fan too.

Chelsea at Wolves today, the lead should grow.

Evans isn't that young and he was talked up last season along with Wellbeck and the Italian striker way above their abilities.
Man Utd badly need a fit Vidic to stop their season going off the rails.

How can someone not know who Johnny Evans is?

Been in that team for 2 seasons now, starred at Sunderland before that.

Hardly an unknown.

Who was that bald fella starting up front for United?

Watching Bristol City vs WBA on BBC 1.

West Brom look a right handful.

And are now 2-1 down. Just proves what a "competitive" league the Championship is.

22 is pretty young for a Big 4 centreback

Bristol 2 WBA 1. Don't know what to think about this result. Good to see that WBA looked just as vulnerable as they did against us, which bodes well for the cup. But I'm really gutted to see Bristol get a win, as I had hoped they were heading into the relegation struggle.

One interesting point: it became clear that Mattock is exceptionally slow. I didn't notice this so much in the cup, but if WBA play him against us, Jobi and Jimmy should make plans to book him into Sketchleys. He looks almost as bad as Insua.

I was split as well but think from a cup game point of view that it is good news for us.

With WBA losing and Forest winning they will now be even more likely to make the league a priority in their thinking and may rest a few for midweek; also Dorrans looked like he got a knock. Will have given their confidence a bit of a knock that second half performance.

I don't think Bristol City getting 3 points yesterday will have too much bearing on our survival hopes anyway, there are plenty of other sides in and around us at the moment that as long as we win some of our home games we will be alright.

Good to see that according to Colin the referee was at fault for their home defeat at the weekend. If it wasn't for those pesky referees and the 10 point deduction, Palace would already be in the Premier League by now!!

Certainly was the plan to get Haynes into one on one situations with JM.

McDermott was at the game, sure we will do the same.

Dorrans is the key, City didn't get near him 1st half, shut him down 2nd and WBA looked lost without him pulling the strings.

Certainly a big sigh of relief down here today.

Did anyone else think Jonny Evans looked like he was running through marmite when Rodwell trotted past him for the third goal?
