BobKnows Seriously, does everyone need to be in either camp Terry or camp Bridge?

They're both a couple of class oxf*rd.

Why on earth is Wayne Bridge a class oxf*rd? I'm struggling to think of a single indiscretion.

I'm with Bridge on this one.

Terry's never going to be dropped altogether and even if the two of them could "man up" and play together the media attention would be disruptive.

He's taken one for the team.

How noble

I've no doubt Capello could have made that decision, without Bridge needing to get involved.

LOLz @ people telling him to man up. From his statement it sounds like he knows how much media attention his inclusion will bring and will overshadow anything that happens on the pitch.

I'm firmly with Team Bridge (and Team Andre whilst we're at it!)

If he just shut up and played his football (such as it is), there'd be a fair bit less media attention.

He's just an attention-seeking martyr.

Just as long as he doesn't take one for the team in the centre circle before the game ...

Whole situation is a shame. Bridge feels he has to pull out of the England squad and Terry has been single handedly throwing games away for Chelsea since the story broke.

His defending for the first Inter goal last night was LOLzable and even Chelsea fans were admitting that he threw the Everton game away on his own.

TBM
exileinleeds Has decided that his inclusion in the team would be divisive, and has ruled himself out of the England team. He wishes the team all the best in South Africa.

Media talk......he would not give up the chance the play for England at the world cup (probably his last chance to) over something he's known about for longer than we have and has had time to "get over". The good old British media trying to cause negativity in the squad as usual.

You were saying.......although now you seem to have gone quiet.......

It may not just be the effects of the players on each other, but the media constantly getting on everyones backs about in the build up to and during the world cup.

Because now the media are just going to leave the players alone to get on with it aren't they?

What actually happens, and what the players fear could happen and take steps to avoid aren't necessarily the same thing.

What is he doing? Missing out on a great chance to play at the World Cup, just to get some more media attention.

I thought the statement (obviously written by Bridge and from the heart  ) was a bit premature.
Why couldn't he have just asked to not be picked for the Egypt friendly while the story was still fresh in people's minds?
No doubt there will be further indiscretions and injuries before South Africa to distract everybody from the Terry affair and who knows, with his injury record Terry is no certainty to be fit for South Africa.

I think I'll go mad if another caller to any phone-in programme goes on about the British Press ruining our chances in South Africa by reporting stuff that Sun-readers are desperate to read-The Press reports what is happening, they don't create what is happening.
Are some fans already building up their defence against disappointment and blaming all and sundry before the inevitable happens and we leave South Africa after bravely losing in the quarter-final?

Expect Bridge to have a best selling autobiography within a year.

Would you give up the chance to play at the World Cup cos your mate slept with an ex?!
I certainly wouldnt. Terry got his woman, Bridge is daft to give up his place in squad now as well.

What will happen if Terry gets injured and cant go anyway? Bridge gonna ask for his place back?

I would, depending on how I felt about her of course... I'd be struggling not to lay him out every second I was near him.
