At least it means we should be getting rid of this horrid kit.

On the downside it's another chance for the club to try and get more money out of the fans by changing the kit.

How many is that now in the last 5 years? Wasn't there that 'supporters charter' thing where they said each kit would have a 2 year shelf life?

Each club should have this in their customer charter, IIRC RFC have not had 2 years in their charter for quite a few years - I think it was removed about the time they changed to Puma.

That's interesting.

Is it something that STAR attempt to apply any pressure on or lobby the club to adopt?

It's exactly the kind of thing I would expect them to try and represent the fans over.

I blame the fans who buy them year in year out TBF.

If there's a market, you can bet the club will exploit it. Wouldn't you do the same?

We have tried and continue to mention is occasionally but it is not the highest priority as there is no rule that says you have to buy it.

Designers, Stores change their range on a seasonal basis. Rugby League is every year. Really dont see a problem in it and is now the norm.

I think I've bought one replica shirt in 25 years of supporting the club so it doesn't really affect me that much.

I do think it's exploiting a captive market as wearing the latest branded kit, training top etc etc is a big part of supporting a club to many people. It's totally different to other fashion items because you don't have a choice of all the options on the market.

It's not to everyones taste to buy shirts, and for some it's great value for money too, but for others it is an issue that they're changed so often, especially those with a few kids who want the shirts and for who they are relatively expensive items. That's why a lot of clubs, including ours at one point, said they would restrict the changes to make kits last a couple of seasons.

As for what happens in minority sports like Rugby...I couldn't care less, and the number involved make it pretty insignificant anyway.

And there's a significant number of Reading fans?

I'm going to get me the white "away" shirt. That one's class and a bargain at a tenner.

IN. Might go for the Jimmy Kebe 'England is cold' look an go Long Sleeve for once...

Definitely not getting any home kit though, it's butt ugly.

White shirt is best this season, just like Real Madrid.

I bet RFC sell a hell of a lot more shirts than most Rugby teams (league or Union) and the whole two yeah shelf life is more a football wide thing that most other clubs seem to try and stick to.

It irks me that the club made the commitment some time ago but now seem to have taken out of their 'charter' and are happy to change the kit every year despite their earlier, and industry standard, commitment not to.

All done for money, yet another new kit in the summer, absolutely no attempt being made by the club to keep this to sensible proportions. Where is STAR on this, I know they can't reverse decisions but you'd like to think there'd be some consideration of the fan's point of view.

And if they do change it it'll most likely be another ghastly abomination, they could at least put three options up for a vote so there is some consensus from fans.

All said though if they came out and said what they were doing and why and stated that all profits would be ploughed back into supporting the team then I'd have some small amount of respect.

Yes I know I don't have to buy it, that's not the argument, its the whole principle of it all that gets me.

I won't thanks, haven't done since about '95.

For once I was actually thinking about others and not just numero uno!

Some of you just aren't happy unless you've got something to moan about!

The current home shirt is hiddious! If it's replaced in the summer, that's good news.

If you don't want to buy one, don't. Why not treat yourself to a hotdog and coke while watching a game - and shut the hell up!

'greed

I haven't had a replica shirt since i was a child, through choice.
If I did, I would know that it would be current for a minimum of a year.
If I didn't like that fact, I wouldn't buy a shirt .

Seriously, if you lot want to moan about something, moan about something that actually matters!

Train tickets perhaps? or something else that you need to pay for to facilitate working/living etc and is massively over charged.

All about a badge for life at the huge price of £2.

Bring my voice to show my support, shirts are a waste of time!
