Egypt look pretty tidy. England look to be badly hitting passes and not having any sort of effective communication or understanding.

For a top ten International side to put in such woeful set pieces is outrageous.

Took me 10 - 15 minutes to realise Defoe and Walcott were on the pitch (turned on at abut 25 minutes). Echo Floyd. Brown is atrocious. Not impressed with the midfield. It just never looks comfortable or balanced.

Strange VM, I think Rooney is overrated, but he has been a bright spark in that England team. The one player who truely looks like he knows what he's doing in attack.

Crouch. Lean on people smaller than you when going for a header = foul.

It's not oxf*rd hard. You've been giving them away for years, you cretin.

Good goal mind.

But it's a well know fact proven by the finest NASA atsrophysicists that because he's so tall, his head acts like a second moon, exerting it's own gravitiation pull. This means that when he jumps for the ball, the additional gravitational pull actually makes him shorter than when he's standing still. Hence, he needs all the help he can get when going for headers.

Once again though, he proves he's much better with the ball at his feet.

indesputable. He's very tidy with his feet.

Well played SWP. And in particular Milner who made that goal for me.

How does a professional commentator & pundit still sound surprised when describing Crouch as better on the deck than in the air?

SWP very lively. He's a bit random and uncontrolled, but his enthusiasm and desire make him a good option. Still wanna see some balance to the left though. Carrick's looked handy too.

Crounch has now scored 20 goals for England - equal 18th in the all time list with Martin Peters and Frank Lampard.

It's also 20 goals in 37 appearances - which puts him up there with the strike rate of Owen and Shearer - not bad considering more than half his appearances have been as sub.

 @ England's second goal. Goalkeeper made an over dramatic diving save for Millner's shot and then let the ball slip through his hands like a bar of soap for SWP's.

The good thing about Capello is that not only is he a good manager but also a lucky one.
I think Coppell was a lucky manager as is our Brian.
3 goals all scored by the subs-not sure what that says other than that SWP and Crouch have done their chances no harm whereas on tonight's showing Walcott,Defoe,Upson and Brown have gone back a few steps.
