Vision playing Devil's advocate a bit but If Lampard had put away the sitter that Walcott's pace and final ball laid on a plate for him, his subsequent game and peoples attitude to him might be completely different.
Lampard does tend to smash the ball and although it might be a bit churlish to criticise somebody with his goalscoring rate he could be even better if he used a bit of craft at times.
He should look at a video of Kenny Dalglish and Rush's finishing to see that when a goalie spreads himself the cool thing to do is chip the keeper because he is already committed.
As you say Walcott MIGHT have grown in confidence and touch if that had put us 1-0 up but although I don't agree with Spacey and some of the others that he is ,as they put it,shit like a lot of wingers nowadays his crossing for club and country isn't that good.
Having grown up in an era when All top level wingers could cross a ball but some were quicker than others I find it strange that so many now can't and it makes Beckham look as though he is from a different planet when he only does what wingers of the good old days of black and white (film and TV that is,not players who were all white)could routinely do and could also run.
It's a shame that Bentley doesn't appear to have trained on for whatever reason but in fairness to Lennon his passing has become much better with age and Walcott,if nothing else, has a lot of time on his side.
