Is this now officially debunked and can we start laughing at everyone who believed it?

Surely you don't need it to be debunked in order to do that? I'm afraid you may have betrayed an element of doubt, there...

th eshane long one is definitely debunked now

but im pretty sure this:

the malian herald jimmy kebe has cited fans on an internet message board as being key in the ressurrection of his Reading FC career.
speaking to reporter david mcdoofus yesterday the malian magician stated that he had become depressed and lost all confidence due to booing at the stadium, and some savage critiques of his ability on RFCs leading internet fan site.

however, constant spirited posts in his defence have helped him put his inconsistent form to bed, and has resulted in a run of games where he has finally started to look every inch the premiere league player he was bought to be.jimmy said" id just like to thank brendywendy, maguire and bigfoot for helping me fulfil my potential here. id be nothing without them
."

is totally real and fully bunked

I feel left out. I've always thought Kebe was a decent player.

coyrls Nothing conclusive but I think there are hints that this is invented:

Long found the change initially hard

I think an editor would be likely to change this to "Long initially found the change hard"

And what people tend to forget

Unlikely to start a new paragraph with "And"

Tipperaryman

Can't find this usage on Google "Tipperary man" is common though.

we can only hope for more sparkling performances

Doesn't sound like a newspaper here "We can only hope", why? Also "sparkling" is an odd choice of adjective.

What you say might have been the case before we were treated to 'Education, Education. Education'. Sadly, however, over the past decade editorial and journalistic standards have plunged dramatically. Have you not read some of the crap that the Reading Post allow Jonny 'wot is gramar and speling?' Fordham publish?!!

So a pretty plausible piece of work and a great wind up!
