Also, can you think of any ref who has a genuinely worse record than him?

rhroyal It so happens that this is also the same referee who hit the spotlight in the Chelsea v Barca semi final last season and effectively knocked Chelsea out.

I thought it was poor finishing combined with laughable defending from Essien & Ballack that knocked Chelsea out?

What about FOUR penalties that Chelsea should have had against Barcelona?
What annoys me is that Chelsea (English team) comprehensively outplayed Barcelona over two legs and should have been in the final. But, solely because of Obredo, Barcelona got through and suddenly they were the best team in the world.

1960 The point is that I don't hate Barcelona and I admit that they are a skilful side (but then so are Arsenal) - but I can't stand English football supporters getting so far up Barcelona's bums because they think it's trendy to do so.

Hungerford Bee How can you have 15 posts on this topic and not mention Stuart Attwell?

1960 I had not forgotten that it was 0-0 in the first game. Barcelona's supposed brilliance didn't exactly unlock the door there, did it? And in the second leg Barcelona had ONE shot on target. Not very good for the best team in the world. And in two games they did not actually beat Chelsea. The best team in the world should have won at least one of the games. Strewth, they are only joint top in Spain with Real Madrid at the moment - why aren't they 10 points clear?

99% of referees i would say.
You don;t get appointed to Champions League games without being a good referee.
Care to analyse the errors made by Rooney, Messi, Gerrard etc ?
Whilst people say one refereeing decision can change the result of a game it is equally true that a single error by a player can do the same, and players make far more mistakes.
