Franchise FC Mowbray is the SPL version of Brendan Rodgers.

Probably an ok coach, but out of his depth at the level he chose.

:| The SPL is weak shit compared to top Championship sides. Mowbray did a very good job at West Brom, and they played some fantastic football as well. The trouble with the SPL is, if you're Celtic or Rangers, there is no place for 2nd best. He paid the price for that. That's it.

As for him being the Brendan Rodgers of the SPL, how's that? Rodgers hasn't yet managed a team for a full season, or done anything of note. Mowbray won promotion from the Championship as Champions with WBA in 2008, and led them to an FA Cup Semi Final at Wembley. The similarity is where?

Oh how i LOLaughed so hard last night when the 4th went in, was watching in disbelief.

He's a good bloke and a good manager but his post match interview made me laugh, it was something along the lines of " blame rangers for continuing to win games and getting in the way of us being first"

10 points clear with two games in hand and 30 million worth of debt ,without buying a player since 08. Priceless.

some classics in that interview

Tony Mowbray "We maybe need to try to play slightly differently away from home"

It took him 16 away games, 8 wins, 2 draws and 6 defeats to work this out?

Tony Mowbray "Maybe it isn't a league for trying to force the game and be expansive - maybe it is a league for playing defensive, negative football"

At home .. goals for rangers 43
At home .. goals for celtic 28

Yet rangers play the defensive, negative football?

And his European record was any better than his domestic record?

Dreadful appointment in the first place. Surely they could have done better than that?

Franchise FC Mowbray is the SPL version of Brendan Rodgers.

Probably an ok coach, but out of his depth at the level he chose.
Prefers pretty football over strong football (only the Obsene Whinger at the Arse can do that and get away with it)
Doesn't appear to have a workable plan B

Exactly the comparison I was thinking yesterday.

Did very similar things...

Mowbray came in after a succesful period but one that was winding down.
Sold a lot of the old guard
Brought in youth and players inexperienced at that level
Sacrificed effective football for fancy football
Failed to appreciate that sometimes you have to change a bit of who you are to make the fans happy, after all they are who at the end of the day, decide your fate.

He'll be back, he's not a bad manager but like Rodgers failed to grasp the need to sacrifice SOME long term aims for short term results.
