Don't know what to think of this.
Too little too late from Labour methinks.

It does sound like a load of bollocks, especially as the Sports Minister was on the 5Live "Sports Ministers Debate" as recently as last Thursday and basically agreed that this is something the football authorities should befixing, not Government.

Although, having said that, the problem is the "football authorities" have shown themselves woefully incapable of doing so. As an example, while football's careening off a cliff, Mawhinney was happily taking plaudits on his resignation for his "successful rebranding" of Divisions 1, 2 and 3 into the Championship, League One and Two. Yeah, cos that's just what football needed!

WHo is going to be stupid enough to invest their own personal money into a "business" that basically makes losses all the time. Hardly a sound investment.

Just change it so that every club has a legal obligation to have a "fans" representative on the board.

How will these ideas sit with FIFA's no government interference in football rule?

I can't see it helping with the World Cup bid that's for sure.

Governments should not get involved with football. The pillocks we have running the game in this country are already proving themselves quite capable of mishandling situations and cocking it all up without any help from Labour, Conservatives or the Lib Dems thankyou.

So who is going to sort it out without government regulation? The TV companies? The Premier League? Sadly, we've got to the point where only external regulation will sort the mess out, because the departure of Ian Watmore last week proves that no-one inside the game will be able to reform.

Brilliant idea - only one problem - the clubs are not their's to give to anyone.

Looking beyond the blatant electioneering, can anyone realistically see the likes of Abramovich or even our own beloved leader Kim Jon Madejski handing over part of what they own? I think not!

Michel Platini seems to like the idea and the Tories are jumping on the bandwagon too.
