Every player has their price, if we recieve a big enough offer, then he will go. As to who, then thats not important as it will be the players choice to leave for that club or not. To the club PSV's money is just as good as money from Man Utd, Arsenal or any other club for that matter.

brendywendy or he could sell off those who dont play, like marek and cisse and some of the kids less likely to break into the team

We might £2m for selling Marek, Cisse, Henry, Mooney & Davies. Assuming we can find people to take them. I'm pretty sure Sig won't go for under £2m.

Isn't Marek a free transfer this summer? Cisse too? Mooney too? <-- (guess)

Actually, no idea.

Cisse's deal runs until the summer of 2011
http://www.readingfc.co.uk/page/NewsDet ... 91,00.html

Marek signed a 3 1/2 year deal when he joined so presumably he is also under contract until 2011

Not sure about Mooney though

I am afraid I can't see the Club raising a lot of cash from the sales of any of the players who don't appear to be part of McDermott's plans.

I too don't know their contractual situation but I don't think the sort of Clubs who might want Mooney, Henry and maybe Davies are going to have a lot of cash to splash so I suspect that, if they are not part of McDermott's plans, we will let them go for more or less whatever we can get which won't add up to a great deal in modern football terms.

As for Marek and Cisse they are more likely to end up overseas but as their wages are presumably high I imagine we might do a Rosenior/Harper type deal just to get them off the wage bill if we can't sell them.

I think he will stay. Has a lot of potential.

I'd be gutted to Davies leave full stop nevermind on a free. That free kick he scored against one of the best goal keepers in the world and his all round play that day was top notch.

Davies wouldn't leave on a free unless we didn't offer him a new deal. If we offer him a new deal and he turns it down then we'd get a tribunal fee because he's under 24.
You'd have to think it would be touch and go whether he gets a new deal. He's not done much to make you think he will - no real criticism of him, he's just not been high enough up the pecking order in a crowded midfield to play the games and show what he can do. If it was a question of keep him or lose him and use the money to sign Griffin or Zuba i know which way I would vote.

Does no-one actually check these things out before coming out with them! Davies is contracted until 2011.

I don't think he'll go anywhere. Could be seeing the backs of Gunnarsson & Matejovsky this summer (someone could also come in for the Sig) and he'll have a much better chance of breaking in next year.

Looking at the 5 players out of contract you can't see any of them being here next year. Would like to keep Ivar but he'll get and better/longer deal else where.

Bet Rosenior wishes he'd taken the contract on over from Ipswich in the summer, I doubt the Premiership clubs are in for him like he expected...

Royal_Delight P.S Reading has been rather poor in replacing players for the past few seasons. Eg. Cisse for Sidwell, Thorvaldsson for Doyle.

Thorvaldsson as Doyle's replacement? I'd say Long or even Church would be better suggestions. Pro-active replacement is still replacement.

Can't confirm it but didn't Rogers and the club said that he was similar to Doyle. They also said that he could give us the dimension that we lack when Doyle left. :D

They can cough up £5m then. To be honest, where ever he ultimately goes, he could quite possibly be the next Steven Gerrard. He's going to the top, with or without us.

I think that Sig can quite easily make the same sort of impact in the game as Neil Webb. He appears so level headed for one with little experience in the pro game which speaks volumes for the way the club have nurtured him. I hope that wherever he ends up that he is a success.
