The way some people carried on on this thread you'd have thought that it was only Reading fans who ever gave high-earning footballers some stick.

The hand-wringing self-lotahing of RFC followers over their own support is utterly curious.

Big +1 here. I think some people are so worried about the idea about our image that bend over backwards to distance themselves from "the rest" of our supporters. The fact is we're no worse, nor very different, from football fans in general.

i think its a tad different being in the bottom 3, taking a pasting from a relegation rival, to booing a player after winning 8 games out of nine, where he has been one of (if not)our best players

Mills is captain tonight with no Ivar..I hope noone thinks this is BM sticking two fingers up to the fans (or a middle finger). I think we have to credit the manager's man management skills so far and he is saying to the lad go out and show the fans that the club is important to you.Rehabilitation complete ?
or maybe when he gets cheered on at the mad stad on Saturday (when I hope we will be statistically safe..50+ points.).

He was captain last time Ivar was out, so it's got nothing to do with it. Move on.

Precisely..Having chosen him to do the job last time BM could have opted to choose another stand in but that would have reignited the fan situation
which would have been a bad move ....as I said..good man management

I can't think of a better man manager than BM. Absolutely solid.

However the nature of the players needs to be taken into account: young or ex-fringe players now brought in and hungry and happy to be given the chance to play. Compare that with those on big wages who have "made it" and are eyeing interest from Prem sides.. troublemakers or wantaway primadonnas like Lita, Kitson, Sidwell, Hunt, Shorey, Sonko, Doyle, infact almost all of Coppell's men once they made it in the Prem!

But he can only work with what he's got - not his fault the players are young and enhtusiastic. Perhaps he'd be able to calm Lita down, make Kitson talk less, keep Shorey/Hunt playing well despite wanting to go etc... who knows.

Apologist to a bunch of no-mark Reading fans. You can go to a punch and judy show or pantomine if you fancy booing for no substantial reason.

Monumental difference to our situation and WHU, you really are thick and diluded if you think otherwise...I await your response. :|

Just confirmed

MaccyD to appeal Matts sending off today.

He has seen the replays several times, and believes the sending off was unjust and Reading have a winnable case

Suspension is put on hold while the appeal is heard. Risk is an extra game's suspension if the appeal is lost.

Further LOL at how football lags behind other sports in terms of using al equipment available to help with key decisions.

Goodbye season.

Thanks Ref.
