The "right" team got promoted, they beat us to it.....simples

However, they must rue the loss of Owen Coyle to a team that was once below them....but is now above them.

The appointment of Laws was mysterious and laughable at the time, and still remains a joke even now.

A shame really, their early season home form seemed capable of dragging them through

At least we get to see Bikey again next season

Tbf, OC was taking them down anyway. They were already in freefall. OC was wise, took a great opportunity to stay in the Premiership and for his career, did the right thing and jumped a sinking ship.

Seeing as how Reading have been shit for 3/4 of this season, including not winning a home game for near enough a calendar year it's a bit rich saying that.

Yes agreed but surely we would have made signings if we had gone up Al

And whether Coppell had stayed or not, Rodgers would surely not have been brought in.

After all the excitment of the play off win and reaching the promised land, I wonder how many Burnley fans can say they have enjoyed this season? Fans were leaving after ten minutes only to get home and watch Hanson and Lawrenson rip your team to pieces and point out the obvious defensive frailties. Not really there fault but the gap gets bigger each year. Bellamy on his own is worth more than Burnley's entire sqaud.

Shame really, much rather Burnley survived than Hull or the "economical truthers" from the East End.

I know what you mean, but I am still jealous that they went up and we didn't.

Whilst we're at it, shall we just rewind it to 1995 and see if we should've gone up instead of Bolton?

Odd bit of maths there !

Half way was Boxing Day and we weren;t shit for all the first half of the season !

However the original comment is pointless - Burnley went up on merit and they and us then had to make the best of the divisions we found ourselves in. Neither of us have had consistent performances !

Also... we had a team before WW1 I think (I'm guessing here), and whilst on a tour of Italy, they commented that we were one of the best teams in Europe at that time. The team was ripped apart by the war and it never got to flourish.

These two wars were a conspiracy against Reading Football Club, or the German's hate us!

Found a little quote on that team

"Without doubt, Reading FC are the finest foreign team seen in Italy"
(Corriere della Sera newspaper, Milan)
