Messiah Fair play to him for being big enough to change his decision, but just because there was one defender between the striker and the goal, isn't that still a goal scoring opportunity?

paultheroyal As club linesman you should only be giving ball in and out of play and advising on offside.
Poor decision by the ref.

Victor Meldrew I don't recall ever seeing this in a professional game but all credit to the ref for being big enough to change his mind.
One thought though why was there a melee?
Hopefully you don't get your boys to do a Chelsea or Man United and surround the referee querying his decisions.

paultheroyal Never changed any of my decisions, the old saying about "even things out" may of cropped up once in a while though"
Was not criticising the orginator poster, but i would say that it is very rare and unusual for a referee to ask for fouls anywhere on the pitch particularly in and around the box.
In my time of refereeing, from Sunday morning, through to the Conference and Premier League etc, the most problematic thing which causes most of the problems is club linesman!!
