Tom Huddlestone or Michael Carrick? - WCSquad

Looks like these two could be fighting for the last place in the midfield.

Carrick, but like the choice of King or Dawson, neither are that convincing.

:| England's best player fo rthe last two seasons and the key to the new shape that allows all the Bertie big BOllocks to play - Gerrard being quite fortunate to be involved I should add

Best player? :|

Slows the game down, rarely wins the ball, and offers little going forward. If only Hargreaves was fit.....

Not too impressed with Barry, but who else is there for that role? Huddlestone might be better as he has a better range of passing, but he also hasn't had much of a chance on a big stage.

Looking at the England team, it really isn't that convincing, and a 1/4 final exit looks odds on IMO.

The Sun were creaming their pants yesterday that Wes Brown might be fit. For Christ's sake!

Barry's left foot brings some balance to the midfield and our whole formation, don't think his place in the starting XI can seriously be called into question?

That's a really pathetic thing to say. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, and mine is that Barry is an average player who isn't good enough to be in an England WC winning team. If you think differently then fine, but try and be a bit more mature in your responses.

It should be about the team - not the individual.

We won the World Cup in 66 with the best goalscorer in the country not playing - Jimmy Greaves.

That bit kind of makes the rest redundant.

Engalnd won't win the WC, and bar Rooney there aren;t really any players of 'world class' and defensively we've got no one who is fit and in form.

It really doesn;t matter much which fringe players we take, our first 11 isn't good enough.

Huddlestone would be better defensively than Carrick.

Nnnnggggh at the inability to see that a midfield is about a team. Maybe Lampard and Gerrard are the best two midfielders in the world. :|
