I have vague memories of 78. I remember the final quite well.

Clear memories of 82 as was just after my family shifted to NZ and NZ made there first appearance (and actually managed to score which Aussie hadn't done; which was important) All games were at about 3am in NZ, which was a bit of a bugger.

The 82 team are revered in NZ. Even non-footballing (Rugby) people will know names like John Adshead, Steve Sumner, Steve Woodin, Wynton Rufer, Richard Wilson but may not be able to name any of the current team!

A mate of mine played in a NZ World Cup qualification match in the late 70s.
