Banks: Take Robinson to the WC instead of Hart.

Personally I think Banks' marbles have gone the same way as his right eye if he thinks Robinson should go to the WC instead of the Premier League keeper of the year.

Discuss.

Without reading the link...I would imagine he's playing the experience card. While Hart may be a better 'keeper this year, Robinson's been there on the big stage and may be calmer head when called upon.

I don't necessarily agree, but to say that he's losing his marbles is harsh.

Yeah, would have hart instead of him. Robinson has proved he's not upto it. Good prem keeper, thats it.

And he has been fantastic out there on the big stage, hasn't he?

Name two things he's done wrong.

I'll start the list:

1. Not stopped goals going in.

Robinson should be number one in my opinion. Been there and done it before.

And failed. He's no longer at a big club. If you can't make it as tottenhams number one, you aren't good enough for England.

Hart has been quality for birmingham and a large part of why they are so high up the league, growing in confidence and the experience of going to a world cup would really help him, he's by far the best young prospect for a keeper in the country at 23.

Agreed.

Hart also has experience of playing in a major tournament (Euro U21 last year). There's also the minor bonus of him playing in a winning penalty shootout too.

What's being at a big club got to do with it?

James - Portsmouth
Green - West Ham
Hart - Birmingham (that is where he has played all season

What is the difference between those clubs and Blackburn?

Its not " being" at a big club. It was his lack of ability to prove himself there, you completely missed the point. Green and james are poor also, scotland have a better keeper than we do as do probably the other top 10-15 teams in the world. We have awful keepers but hart has shown real signs this season he can be a future number 1.

Robinson did fine in the WC, did nothing wrong. Best GK around at the moment and hitting form.

GK is the hardest position of all to decide upon as there is no single outstanding candidate. The days of having the luxury of Shilton and Clemence are long gone. Who would I take? I would like to see Hart, Robinson and James as the three to go. DJ would be my first choice.

But we need a number 1 now...and Robinson has the CV to back it up. I'm not really decided either way, but you're being harsh (quelle surprise) on Robinson. He's as deserving as anyone else atm.
