we are still short a target man, assuming polish goes, wide left we are short on cover, and right back and centre half. thats if we keep everyone else at the club. looking down the list there are some interesting prospects here

Think we'd have a decent chance of signing Stuart Parnaby, he's a right back isn't he?

Would like to see Ashdown come back if Fed was to leave.

Agreed, for the most part. All had their wages inflated by being at PL clubs.

We have more than our fair share of good young keepers at this club. There is no reason to pay the higher wages that an ex-Prem keeper would demand.

Caller: Ant Niemi should be in the Scotland squad
Presenter: Niemi? He's Finish
Caller: He's nae Finish, he's only 28

That is a true story - a real caller into a local Glasgow radio station....

You've got 1 wrong. Stojkovic is on loan from Sporting Lisbon so will be returning to Portugal.

He was one of the names that jumped out for me too. Always though he was a decent footballing fullback when he was at 'Boro. Wouldn't mind seeing him come in on a free if he's still close to being able to play at that kind of level.

Others that would be decent aquisitions for me are:

Finnan
McCann
Harewood
Iwelumo
Keogh
and Ashdown, although I expect him to be Pompey's number 1 next season.

Zevon Hines or whatever his name is could be an interesting one too. He looked quite dangerous for West Ham at times and might be one to keep an eye on depending on who takes over from Zola.

Harewood was injured at the end of last season. Spent 1st half of season at Newcastle. Did not endear himself to the natives -was very lazy and very few wanted him to stay.

Apologies for poor quoting there- we old people don't cope well with technology.

Ben Alnwick would be a brilliant keeper if Feds were to leave...
