The grave of our founder

by SpaceCruiser » 14 May 2010 11:47

See http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/footb ... ders_grave

I seem to remember The Cube doing a report to find the grave of the founder of Reading FC about 10 years ago and he had a hard time trying to find it. No surprise that the people wanting to fix the grave couldn't find it. And there's the curious question - who owns the grave?

I hope we can fix the grave headstone.

Let sleeping dogs lie.

Don't rake up old graves.

Etc.

'greed, and IMO it would be crass to turn it into a tourist spot for Reading fans.

They'll need to find it first!

On the other hand they could try and embalm him and build a Lenin style mausoleum and have 24 hour sentry guards?

Nah couple quid to do it up a bit isn't a lot to ask. A decent grave for the founder wouldn't be crass.

Are their any remaining relatives to contact?

I certainly don't see anything wrong with investigating the position and at least fixing the grave up a bit.

Oh and I hardly think tonnes of RFC fans are suddenly going to camp out beside the grave or pile along every day trampling over the cemetery.
