I just can't decide whether to post an irony meter exploding or a pot calling a kettle black :|

Anyway, spacey I think the answer to your question is a slightly prosaic problems with empty seats and the fact that the locals and international fans have both been priced out of the tournament

Following FIFA announcing that video technology will not be folloed up, I really do hope that there is a spate of goal line incidents and cases of mistaken identity. Their blind refusal to adopt what is a simple change is more mind numbing than 99% of my posts on here.

Will there be a Clive Thomas-esque ruling out of a goal because time is up? Unlikely now that match officials prefer to blow for time when the ball is either dead or in the middle of the pitch. Will there be a Poll-esque example of 3 yellow cards given to the same player? Again highly unlikely.

My money is on goals not being given because the officials did not see the ball cross the line and on there being examples of blatant cheating and diving.

4th officials can now officially get involved in any incident they want if they feel their opinion is required. There will also be TV monitors situated near the 4th officials.

Basically they will be using TV technology this world cup

Zidane's head-butt in 2006 was the work of an utter genius.

They used that in the 2006 final, find the camera angle of live shots of zidane's headbutt I can guarantee none of the officiating team saw that incident and the fourth offical probably saw it on a monitor.

in that case, 9 million different people will have different opinions on a replay that holds a game up ad nauseum and then in the end we might as well just argee to take the ref's word and get the fcuk on with the game played as it should be, 22 men, a ref and two linos
