ScottishRoyal Why do people so frequently use Cote D'Ivoire instead of the Ivory Coast? We don't use Deutschland, Espana or Italia so why this?

Thaumagurist*Stranded The big difference being that the official name of the country is Cote D'Ivoire - it's isn't a language thing it's what the country is actually called and is so in English - it is not called the Ivory Coast.
Cote D'Ivorire is not in English. It's in French, m8.
