smashing up Wembley stadium You really must be an england fan being that you enjoy Living in the past![]()
as for the ordering a pint in Glasgow without getting a hostile reception.. Grow a Brain.. Anyone that orders a pint in Glasgow gets a hostile reception
The piss taking well that goes both ways If the media in england didnt hype the team up so much I would suspect the piss taking wouldnt be as bad. The majority of it is Banter.. The BBC and ITV coverage of this world cup has been laughable and so one sided.. Every game that was on they were showing England coverage at before the match, half time and full time.
Oh and before you say it.. Scotland Never even qualified ... there thats your only retourt out of the way.![]()

I'm sorry, but you might not realise it, but the English are more often than not vilified if they are on Scottish soil. Schards has already mentioned his children having to live just outside of Glasgow. His eldest would not watch the game in a pub in Glasgow. His younger son didn't watch it and was almost certainly ripped for the result when he went to school yesterday. They have lived in Glasgow for 8 years and are still picked on for being English.

LOLz
No they're not
I've spent time in a few cities around Scotland, as well as some brief time in the rural areas, and we are still treated with disdain and often given a rough time in ways that are not just banter.

Good idea. I'll tell the step children to move to the Highlands then.bigmike I have been Living and working down here for over 10 years now and I have been ripped several times for being scottish. Even when Scotland aint playing which is most of the time.
I do love it when people decide that Glasgow is the benchmark for scotland.
Several times I have been home during the world cup or european championships and I have seen loads of England shirts walking in the city centre of Inverness.
As for watching a game in a pub... I went to watch England in a pub in Wokingham I believe It was the 2006 world cup. I ordered a pint and was actually there hopeing that england would win.. Someone clocked I was scottish and I was threatened by several people and it was suggested that I left. I then went out and had a smoke and went back in after a while.. England won 1 - 0 and I then whitnessed th pub being ransacked.
I certainly dont go out to the pub when england are playing. You are foolish if you think that the things you have described only happen in scotland. I went to School with Several English people and was good friends with them.. Yes they would get Ripped when England lost but no more than they would when Man U lost ( they all seemed to be Man u Fans)..
I reckomend that if you want to form an opinion on a Scotland that you actually visit Scotland not just Glasgow.. You will be made more than welcolme in the Highlands ... After all theres more English there than there are Scots

And in the same way you seem to deny all I've said, I've NEVER heard any England fan (drunk or not) threaten a Scottish person.

Yes. And in the days whan Scotland and N.Ireland or Ireland qualified, it would rotate between "the camps".The majority of it is Banter.. The BBC and ITV coverage of this world cup has been laughable and so one sided.. Every game that was on they were showing England coverage at before the match, half time and full time.

Jeez - what is YOUR problem?? My point was that no, I haven't ever heard an England fan threaten a Scottish person. I know that doesn't mean it doesn't happen, but you seem to be happy to deny that some English fans get similar treatment from the Scots. And it's all very well going to VISIT somewhere else in Scotland, but that doesn't help my step children who HAVE to live just outside Glasgow does it?bigmike ok since you have NEVER heard any England fan (drunk or not) threaten a Scottish person it doesnt happen?????
I have never seen someone get stabbed so going by that logic that doesnt happen either![]()

Admittedly it is utterly tiresome hearing the views from inside the England camp at half time of every game, if only because not one of our players - with the possible exception of David James - ever has anything remotely interesting to say on any subject ever, but you'd expect the British Broadcasting Corporation to cover the only British team ever likely to qualify for the World Cup these days in some depth, wouldn't you? Apologies if that upsets the sweaties, taffs and micks. Laughable how much coverage the only British male player in the Wimbledon Men's Singles is getting, isn't it?
