The FA on Facebook

by Zammo » 09 Jul 2010 21:27

FA Are your family Hungary for football?

Then bring them to see England take on Hungary on Wed 11 Aug at Wembley, kick-off 8pm. A family of four (two adults, two children) can come for a total of £60, sitting in the stadium’s Family Enclosure. Please note that the Family Enclosure tickets sell fast. You can buy online now ...by simply clicking on the following link...

So far 498 comments of utter abuse. The World Cup is not even over. Another FA own goal. Do they not understand the feelings of the Country ????

The comments seem rather conclusive. FA are you reading this. People are not boycotting their country, they are boycotting the disgraceful overpaid prima donnas that had the audacity to pull on our nations shirt without giving it the love, respect, effort, and pride that it deserves. Alf Ramsay must be spinning in his grave!!!! We hope this hits you hard in the pocket, because like the players, money is the only language you seem to understand!!!!

Could be more trouble soon for the FA. Facebook is in the running to take over the England team sponsorship deal from Nationwide.

Lol at the keyboard warriors.

There will be 20k middle class men with Their 2 kids filling the stadium like every other home game.

That's all the FA care about.

LOL @ people who talk about "The FA" as if they are a single entity with a deliberate aim to screw the supporters.

They're a surprisingly big organisation with so many different functions and factions - all with competing objectives - and there's the permanent (employed) staff who do the day-to-day work, as well as those who make decisions and policy - who are not paid and are generally elected/appointed by member organisations (whose interests they look out for above those of the FA). For instance, there's the FA Council and the FA Board (meant to hold the power in balance like the Lords & the Commons but in reality the Board has all the power) and there are people running the professional and the national (amateur) game, plus all the refereeing, youth and women's football stuff.

So who precisely is it you're talking about when you say a "the FA"?

I'm also not sure why having a friendly ahead of the Euro qualifyiers starting is a bad idea !

Granted I really am not interested in watching England play in August (unless they are using a hard red ball) but it's not as if there is an open top bus tour organised for our returning heros....
