Focus Groups

by Sarah Star » 13 Jul 2010 18:23

The club are going to run a few focus groups.

Anyone here ever been on one or been invited to attend?

I heard that the first focus group is to define the need for focus groups

Well, if it's the first one they've ever done maybe...

Just thought I'd point out that the club do consult fans about some things sometimes.

I was a 'mystery shopper' in the concourse once.

I told them it's shit but it made bugger all difference.

Where are the details on this sarah?

Consultation or just paying lip service to a few STAR members?

I think it's a positive step (hence why I suggested it over the last week or so), although pretty sure it's something they've done before.

They asked ages ago for people to sign up, but I think it's only now that they're planning to carry them out.

Don't think it has anything to do with STAR.

If I knew more, I'd tell you.

Wouldn't have thought STAR would need to hold a "focus group" when any of their members can get in contact with them at any time about anything though and have it raised then and there with the club if necessary.

Is that the "genuine supporters" who'd rather moan about things on HNA? than do anything about it?

Damned if they do, damned if they don't. Perhaps there should be an election on HNA? where individuals can be put themselves forward and get involved with some part of the football club. No point me getting involved as I will only be watching 2 or 3 games next season. Will it stop me having an opinion? Probably not!

Think the STAR reference was more are they involved in providing or encouraging fans to join in for the clubs focus groups, not that it's a focus group on STAR.

They did some focus groups about 5 years ago. I went. I felt it was more about the club saying how much do you agree with our agenda / how much would you pay for this than finding out what we actually wanted.

I would like to see the concourses smartened up. They have been untouched since opened and they still look half finished. When one looks at facilities at other sports stadia worldwide, going to the Mad Stad is a real let down. But since when does the club give a fig about the supporters?

I mentioned this a few seasons ago. The club need to ditch the exposed breeze block look and smarten it up a bit.

Agreed. They have put up a few pictures, but it's still a bit bare. However, I can't say that any other stadiums I've been to have been better. In fact, some of my friends seem to prefer the rougher ramshackled look.

Indeed, we need some man with baby posters put up, maybe some scented candles on the service counters and the odd native american birthing matt strewn about
