Rodgers "evens" for Swansea City job.

Betting odds on managerial vacancies rarely mean anything, but we could have the chance to see how good BR really is. I think he'd have the Welshmen in The Premier League within three years.

He could be a decent fit there as they aleady play the kind of football he tried to implement here.

He wouldn't need to make the sweeping changes that tripped him up here when the players couldn't adapt quick enough.

Doesnt really fit the "young and can manage on a shoestring" that the Swans are looking for.

He is young though and if he can tie the shoestring in knots like he did Alex Pearce at home to Palace...

Hmm. Right sort of football as already said, but has he learnt his lessons and can they afford to fund his spending habits. Not really known for unearthing cheap gems is he?

Not sure he's really had time to unearth a gem or two has he?

They usually take a bit of time to develop from cheap nobodies into a decent player, but his MO certainly seems to be turning round under performing players or buying in

Saying that, he did throw Sigurdsson into things at Reading, and got Bertrand in on loan which turned out pretty well. Obvioulsy he also signed Cummings though! At Watford he did ok getting the likes of Cork and Rose on loan so he knows the young players around (no surprise there considering his history).

The one with cracking derbies against Airbus UK, Haverfordwest County and Aberystwyth Town.

Haven't two of their mainstays in Little Britton and Pratley moved on?
If so I think whether he is the manager or not they will struggle to do as well as last season.

A large amount of management is down to luck, he will have that luck, find the club right for him and be a success. Sure hope so.

Rodgers is the favourite now, according to The Sun
The Sun BRENDAN RODGERS has emerged as favourite to take over the vacant manager's job at Swansea City.
The Championship side, without a boss since Paulo Sousa left for Leicester earlier this month, have interviewed Rodgers, who has been out of work since being sacked by Reading in December last year.

Rodgers, 37, said: "It's obviously a fantastic job but at this stage, for me, there's nothing to say,"

Swans chairman Huw Jenkins said: "Brendan Rodgers was one of the first names to come into us. We looked around at managers who adopt our kind of football, our thoughts on the way the club should be run, the way we play and train.

"Brendan has got those principles and has always been a candidate from day one. I've spoken to him at length like I have with a few potential managers."

Rodgers started his coaching career at Reading, moved on to work under Jose Mourinho at Chelsea, and landed his first managerial job at Watford in November 2008 after a recommendation fron the Special One.

He impressed at Vicarage Road but his stay lasted just seven months before leaving for the Royals last June to replace Steve Coppell. But he struggled back at his old club and departed six months later.

Swansea have failed in approaches for Sheffield United coach Gary Speed and Hamilton Accies manager Billy Reid, although Scunthorpe's Nigel Adkins has been linked with a move to the Liberty Stadium.

The Swans will have to win the Welsh Cup first and Bangor City won't give it up easily!

Rodgers set the foundations for our team now. He was prepared to try the young players and it was slowly working. He made a number of good transfers and introduced a style of play that was only missing goals.
