Torquay ticket debacle

by No Fixed Abode » 12 Aug 2010 17:13

So, what happened to 'pay on the day' for this game as the club publicised?

Got to the ground and the steward said it was a f*** up on Readings part.

We had to go and sit in the family enclosure with the Torquay fans.

Hardly Trolling RFC said was all pay on day, then sold seats late. We got to turnstile for seats, was told you needed a ticket, we asked where from, do we need to go to ticket office, they were obtuse, all it needed was a sign saying all away seats sold out, a printer and laminator would have worked, devonian twats.

In front was a lady who looked like she could not have stood all game, they were no more pleasant to her, just told her to go to ticket office and get tickets for family area.

Yes - and we were told it was all sold out, Steward must have assumed we wanted to sit down.

The OS said it was pay on the day. So how come tickets were available on line 2 days prior to the game?

Also, a wall collapse in the away end anyway, so from a health and safety perspective we did the right thing.

Who reads the official site tho, originally was pay on day, so most assumed that was the case.

Hardly 'most'. Surely only those who didn't bother to check first - so far that is a small handful starting with you. The OS was totally clear on this one.

^^^nonsense

From what I've been told, Torquay had always intended the seated tickets for sale prior to the game but RFC never opened the envelope containing the tickets  until a few days before.

Hence the OS statement that 'it was beyond Torquays control' or whatever is true, sort of.

Did anyone not get in to the ground? No. So what's the frigging problem? Some people will do nothing but complain. You never hear me moaning or complaining about anything do you!

We went down to Torquay on Monday and didnt look at the internet whilst we were away. So it's an absolute disgrace I'm afraid, to leave it that late to say it's ticket only for the seats.

Shambles IMO.
