Don't usually do this, but ratings:

Fed: 8 - two stand out saves upping him from a solid 7.
Bryn: 6 - decent yard of pace against N'Guessen. No mistakes in his half hour. Shame he went of injured.
Mills: 10 - Overkill and adoration? Maybe. But if Strauss made a double hundred as captain and led by example like this then I'd be equally superlative. MOTM by a crunchy mile and showed courage despite clearly not being fit. Well played, sir.
Pearce: 7 - Won a lot more in the air than in recent weeks and his positional play was good, covering the space when Cummings got turned.
Cummings: 7: Delighted with the maturity shown today. Not a lefty, but was decent positionally and wasn't afraid to get forward. Rusty, but looked more confident than *ahem* a year ago.
Karacan: 6 - all action, little product. Got stuck in for his 6, but he still has a bit to do on his distribution. Great gonk on the face though.
Howard: 8, 5 - 8 for the 1st half and 5 for the 2nd. Need I say more?
Sig: 9, 6 - like Howard, moved the ball around well in the 1st half and scored a corker, but didn't do a lot when we were on the back foot in the 2nd.
Kebe: 6 - Not a lot to say. Made a couple of good runs, but didn't quite get it right today.
McAnuff: 8 - Attacking flare in the 1st half and made the switch to RB look easy. Not a natural there, but looked comfortable enough. Did his bit for the team today.
Long: 7 - worked hard but it's a difficult role to play. He's capable at this level and consistency would see him become a bit of a fans' fave, I reckon.

Church: 5 - no offence, but can't actually remember him touching the ball despite some clever runs.
Antonio: 6 - lively, but no composure. Definite prospect.

I think that's all of them.

Mr Angry
Royal Rother Cummings isn't worth 6. In the 1st half he just let Dyer run past him every time he got the ball. He never got anywhere near him. Really really poor. 2nd half he was somewhat better but he needed to be. Even then with Dyer's goal he just let him go and made no effort to chase after him as he opened up the space to shoot.

This is a classic example of someone judging a player because of PAST performances rather than what he did on the pitch today.

Dyer was a MASSIVE handful and would have been for any full back today; Cummings did well enough for Dyer to switch to the other flank to try his luck against Jobi halfway through the 2nd half. Also, how many times was Cummings the last covering defender managing to see the ball to safety or to block the Leicester forwards' runs into the box?

For a player who almost certainly knows that he doesn't have a particularly rosy future at Reading (if at all), and who hasn't played a lot of first team football since last Autumn, I thought he did superbly well.

Yep. He was shit early doors in his Reading career, but I always defended him. Hopefully he'll finally take a confidence boost from today and make himself a contender at either full-back position.

cummings and long had half decent games, 6 or 7 for both
sigs goal was genius, and also worked very hard
the whole team worked so hard for it, and well done mills, for a battling captains performance
mention for jobi who looked very threatening at LW and did a job at RB
howard didnt have his best game, but yet another Brian/mills double act for the goal.

the defensive situation looks very dangerous due to massive injuury list
im not happy that mills has had to come on and play when he is still not right on that ankle, as far as im concerned thats criminal.

but with these two weeks off, i can see everyone patched up and ready to go at the end of the window, and probably not get anyone in.unless someone goes that is.

He now has a chance to impress, improve on past performances and crack on. He is young and can learn but a lot depends on his attitude. Good luck.

A good battling performance with the sort of luck that the teams we've played previously have had against us. The artist formally known as Short Cummings played well imo. He got beaten by Dyer a few times but so will every other full back in the league at some point this season and he did well when Dyer went through in the first half.

Mills was man of the match obviously and Sig's goal shows why he is such a special talent which is a shame  . Well done to Karacan for carrying on after that massive shiner even if he was a bit rubbish.

Great effort but I'm not convinced we've turned the corner. OK, very weakened side but I thought we were lucky to come away with the 3 points. Can't see what was wrong with their goal at the end. If it had been us I'd have felt we'd been robbed. They seemed to win everything in the air at the end which never bodes well at this level. Oh well, we'll see. At least I can enjoy my bank holiday now.

We've deserved that luck we've been conceding stupid goals in matches we could have won.

Massive win regardless of how it was achieved; especially after Wednesday's defeat. Don't care if Leicester is in a weakened state, the same could be said of us and we were the ones that came away with the 3 points. job done. Get healthy boys and come back with your tails up.

And PLEASE no injuries for the fortnight!

PS - it's really good to see a player who was doubtful ever to start (let alone make the bench) turn-in a decent performance.

good three points today.

looked a little scared and lacked composure at times but moved the ball around well at others.

still pooping my pants about defensive cover and long being a lone striker.. he might as well not be there.. its always lonng versus 4 huge defenders.. whats the point!?!?!
