Sad story, but cheaters never prosper.

Magnus Sad story, but cheaters never prosper.

But did the chairman actually do anything wrong? He wasn't involved in the cricket scandal.......

I may have read too many thrillers, but here is a plot to a new novel:

Club is used to money launder ill-gotten proceeds of owner.
Chairman - naive fan who loved the glory of being a club chairman gets caught up in web of intrigue
Realises he is out of his depth and tells owner he is going to reveal all.
Owner in turn is up to his ears with the big syndicate players he is acting for - he panics.
Hit-man hired.... Chairman dead, made to look like suicide.

I'm working on the sequel!

Convenient for Croydon Crem if he was found at the ground.

You could argue it doesn't really matter, and at the risk of being called a snob, but Croydon Crem doesn't strike me as a place where I'd want to spend eternity.
