Why do we need a Director of Football Development anyway? To maintain the sterling performance of England on the national stage, no doubt  . Football really is just an old boys network isn't it. Anyway, lets bring McLaren back if only to see whether he has perfected a comedy english accent in the style of Dick Van Dyke.

The FA have hamstrung themselves a little bit by saying the next manager is going to be English. It effectively means it'll be Harry Redknapp. If its not then the list of candidates is very short and so McLOLaren will have to be considered again

There's a guy who did very well with FC Twente and seems to be doing ok with VfL Wolfsburg. Perhaps they ought to look at him?

I agree that the FA have stitched themselves up a little bit with the bit about the next manager being English, but at the same time I still can't see them being comfortable with Redknapp getting the job.

Hodgson will surely still be in with a shout if he can get through the Liverpool job without his reputation being ruined.

I have a bit of a fear that they might just be lining up Pearce for the job!

I read somewhere that McDermott was being linked with a coaching job for England?

If Coppell hadn't fcuked Bristol City over then I think he'd have been in with a shot.

I could see Coppell taking on a teaching role within the FA. Certainly can't go back into management.

That's the last job SC would have taken.

I'd rather have Bill McClaren as England manager before Steve McClaren.

His best/worst interview in that utterly shocking Dutch accent was before FC Twente played Arsenal, and he actually struggled for English words coming out with the sentence "we are - what you call - underdogs"

:D

Tw@t.
