Starfish Ireland were given a lesson for most of their game last night. Until Robbie Keane (the cheating pcunt) took a tumble for no reason whatsoever. I have to say I would have been unhappy had Ireland managed a draw after that.

Very fair comment Starfish-I take back my earlier comment about all the paddies bleating.

Well the U-21's weren't great but they got the win.

I was hoping for more from the attacking midfielders but they were a bit disappointing, Cleverly especially as I think he looks a very good prospect but the lad from Villa (whatever his name is) looked much more dangerous when he came on. Henderson on the other hand had a pretty good game although the keeper should've done better with his goal. Yet again I didn't think too much of Danny Welbeck.

It's finely balanced now for the second leg as the Romanians looked a handy side and Wilshire has been promoted into the senior squad now so presumably we'll be weaker because of it.

from BBC:

Assistant boss Marco Tardelli added: "It is a problem because Kevin Doyle is a very good player for us but we have young players, like Shane Long and like Andy Keogh.

"They are good players but without experience - Doyle has experience in the Premier League"

so has Shane, Marco.

Churchy played well. Linked up well with Bale. Wales lost 4-1...they desrved a lot better but once again were truly shocking defensively. Going forward they looked really good and Church was very much part of that. Thumbs up for his performance on the Cardiff City site.

This England game is desperate.

Oh well, you always get one a season.

You have to give Montenegro some credit though. They were the bottom seeds in this group.

havn't been paying a great deal of attention, but we seem to be hitting too much aimlessly long... it's like watching Reading when we were clueless under Coppell.

SWP - bright spark, even if half of what he's producing is gangly legged fluke.
