That was Lloyd Dyer, Danny Dyer, and Kieron Dyer all rolled into one.

PEARCEY
Maguire This England game is desperate.

Oh well, you always get one a season.

You have to give Montenegro some credit though. They were the bottom seeds in this group.

They came, they played for and got a draw.

Even got away with a handball in the box. FFS.

Good to see the Italians get turned over on their own patch.

I don't really see how Rooney can play worse than that.

"I got picked for England?!"

No real shock results, let's hope Northern Ireland don't live to regret their draw with the Faroes though.

To see the Serbian players going over to their fans, making their hideous little Nationalistic signs to them and applauding them as they were rioting beggared belief. FFS, even UEFA have to act on this and ban them.

Very well organised, too - at given signal Serbians put on masks, got out cutters and proceeded to cut through the plexiglass screens.

Kitson12 Why did the postman take Ashley Young off? Clueless fool.

Because Ashley Young is completely out of his depth in international football?

(I missed the 1st 30 minutes.)

(Wish I'd missed the other 60.)

He was one of the only promising players in the team tonight. Both wingers were the pick of an otherwise boring side.

We look very one dimensional without Defoe, Bent or Zamora available. Thought Barry was useless, so one footed. Would take Scholes, Wilshere or Huddlestone over him this season. Young was good but why was he taking the free kicks with Gerrard and Rooney on the pitch?

Montenegro reminded me of Sheffield United a few seasons back.

I thought Gerrard would definitely play considering Frank has been out injured.

Apart from playing too deep, which I assume was because Barry wasn't doing and Ferdinand didn't take control back there, I thought Gerrard played pretty well. As for his passing being poor, who was the one launch attacks and switching/spreading the play with his accurate long passes when the M'negro's where packing the defence.

I know you have this huge dislike for Gerrard, but his passing last night was fine.

I think Gerrard's main problem was that, as HB says, one of the two players who should have been doing what he was doing didn't so he found himself 20 yards behind where he wanted to be.

Wingers were the better two players.

Montenegro were a tightly packed and well-organised unit. Top of the group still ...
