I would say he's the worlds best left back, and we are very lucky to see him play - he's that good. Just such a shame he's a first class twat.

I wouldn't. Not as long as Evra and Lahm are around. Cole's good, plus intelligent enough to cover during John Terry's frequent walkabout sessions, but on their day I'd take those two over him.

You mean Lahm who is right footed and plays at right-back for club and country now (and rightly so). Right?

I agree with RFCJoe - superb left-back, probably the best around at the moment, but a massive, massive dickhead.

Lahm is a right-back (albeit one who capably filled in at LB) and Evra can't get near Cole at the moment.

I reckon Gareth Bale is going to be a class LB in future years though.

I'm with Mags and Joe on this one.

It's worth remembering that at all the tournaments England have let themselves down at over the last however many years, Cole has come out of all of them with his head held high and having played well.

Consistently been one of the top left backs in the world since be got into the England side but there's no doubt he's a f'king bellend!

Yep. 'greed. He's better than Evra, imho.

I think Bale will continue playing in more attacking roles.....

Not when he gets older and slows down he won't. He'll end up playing LB and he'll be a great one.

He'll obviously have to adapt his game as he gets older and slower, but I'd expect he'll be more likely to move inside than drop back, but who know, all depends on the team around him I guess.

Like Giggs before him, it's a shame he isn't English!

Sol Campbell also rates Ashley a lot, esp. when he's left back in the changing rooms with Sol.
