Khizanishvili came from Premier League Blackburn and we all know how much higher wages are in that league, so it's swings and roundabouts.

You're looking at at least double Gylfi's wages from those three I'd say, which is going to amount to a fair bit over a season.

An absolute fraction of the 7 million we got for selling gylfi on top of his wages

A significant fraction. But then it's probably doubtful we've got all that money yet. We still have a transfer window to go through, and anyone who thought we'd spend more than half of it is deluded in any case.

I thought one of the reasons we sold gylfi is because they were offering it all up front, I also find it hard to believe that khiz and mikele are remotely denting that 7 millioning transfer budget + gylfi's wages, you won't convince me otherwise. Even then, thats not taking into account the previous outgoings which surpass 20 million.

I seem to remember that we were told that one of the main reasons the Sig deal was too good to be true was that we got all of our money up front. And, if you're talking wages, don't forget that McDermott was also ordered to offload Rasiak (clearly against McD's wished if you listen to the comments he has made since) so there was also a big wage saving there.

I agree. I suspect Blackburn are still picking up some of Zurab's wages too.

Lol at crippled gheyer! And good points on the inadequacy of my post. Its not that bad though.we arent losing,2 clean sheets. Just a piece of the jigsaw in jan and we'll be fine. Reminds me of a previous season where we didnt win in eleven, and drew a load.and we all know what happened next.
The 7 million is half spent on the shortfall.plus we may have to fill another small one next year. The rest of the money for sales is accounted for. Only looking at the incoming column of the accounts ledger will always give wonky figures.

Sorry, I'm not believing this imaginary debt malarky over shortfalls, etc Sounds like excuses to me. Other clubs have had absolutely nowhere near the income we have had in the last 4/5 years, yet appear to be in a far better financial position. It doesn't add up im afraid.

Spending more =/= in a better financial position.

A lot of "madman slating" nowadays on these threads, and probably well earnt, this January is going to show just how much ambition Madejski has to get us back up.

The Championship is very topsy turvy with so few points separating success from failure. We are holding our own, just, and the intriduction of someone who can convert the chances, and there a plenty in each game so far this season, would see us pushing upwards towards the top six and play-off contention................but does Madejski seriously want this, I for one have never been convinced by his continuous pre-season "deteremined to get back to the premiership" waffle.

So we will see, gut fealing says we will get rid of some, bringing money in and have to suffer the normal, "we tried to get somebody but it wasnt possible, so we will go with what we have got"

Clueless stuff and you have to start pointing the finger at the coaching staff. No ball retention, lack of tactical awareness and an apparent fear of a shit opposition. A new coach, even on a temporary basis might help to bring in some new ideas. Ray Wilkins anyone?
As for the pathetic booing of Marlon King, the bloke is entitled to earn a living. Try throwing bananas instead, I think he is a good player.

No doubting that but he deserves every last boo and jeer he gets.

As I've said, he's football's Nick Clegg. Says one thing, but then produces actions that don't appear to align. Then he and his followers tell us that we don't understand that what was first contemplated isn't possible and that the alternative solution is, in fact, much better for us!

You have to be joking!!!To me his appearance on the pitch was evidence that Boothroyd and Coventry are morally bankrupt. For once, I would have backed Madejski if he had blocked a proposed signing.

As The Whiff pointed out, it is not like King has only ever been convicted of one minor misdemeanour. What's worsse is that he used his status as a professional footballer to try to justify his actions in groping women. Again as The Whiff pointed out, had he been a paedophile would he have been welcomed back into the professional game? Are the offences he did actually commit to be considered minor?

On another tack: has anyone else heard our current run of draws described as a "record"? I'm sure that's what they said on the Football League Show.

But we drew 6 in a row at the end of the 2001/2002 season :|

Yes and people are entitled to voice their opinion of him (without being racist like you suggest in jest). He was convicted of a crime that the majority of men (and women) are disgusted by so in my opinion the booing was not pathetic - far from it in fact. He will get far worse at other stadiums.

When draws come together like this it doesn't "mean" anything.

None of these draws were individual shocks, like say losing at home to Scunthorpe.

QPR and Forest have had 4 consecutive draws.

Forest have had 9 total, same as us, QPR 8 and Burnley 8. I fully expect QPR, Burnley, Forest to be in the shak-up come season's end.

Number of DEFEATS is interesting

1 QPR
4 Forest
5 Reading, Burnley
6 Cardiff, Swansea, Leeds, Norwich

It was always said that sides were built on solid defensive records. We are getting there on that score. A return to half-decent luck and a bit of form, 1-2 lucky goals and we'll be looking good
