He's a decent referee, but is he really deserving of being recognised by our honours system :| . The best referees tend to be the ones you don't notice and I am not a huge fan of this celebrity culture which seems to come with refereeing these days (courtesy of Mr Poll). Just a personal opinion of course; I tend to think that honours should be used - and sparingly at that, please - to reward those sportsmen who have achieved the highest honours and standards in their field and been a true ambassador for their sport (granted, Webb has achieved that, but he isn't a sportsman per se).

Try spending your life doing what he does - and become the very best at it

Fancy dealing with Premiership footballers every weekend? I'd rather sweep the streets than do what he does

Been a fan of www. going way back, if for no other reason than that of his name readily lending itself to wordplay

Other'n that, he's in danger of becoming his sport's equivalent of Ed Hochuli, and this only can push him closer to that slippery slope

But whatevz, 'grats and all

What a pantomine.

Soft penalty followed by joke red card for Liverpool's best player.

Rendered what might have been an interesting game totally meaningless.

He has just made the easiest red card decision ever as well. 100 refs out of 100 would send Gerrard off for that.

I cannot believe that not only did ITV miss it, but their expert is saying it was harsh.

'greed AND dis'greed.

For me, Gerrard's challenge was clumsy but deserving of a yellow at most. However, I know that football these days calls for challenges with two feet off the ground to be greeted with an early bath.

Full pelt, two feet of the ground and made contact with Carrick - there was only ever one colour card coming out and it wasn't yellow.

I was thinking Rafael was going to dive in but fair play he worked hard to win it back!

I think the red card was an absolute joke when considering only moments earlier Rafael made a two footed challenge. That could have been worse than Gerrard's tackle. And yet Webb chose to ignore Rafael's terrible challenge.

Terrible. No consistency.

Rafael basically did a hop like he was about to step in doggy doo doo, imo nothing wrong with it.
Rafael's could've been bad i admit but he didn't really dive in, in truth.
