Norwich Away ticket prices

by PieEater » 25 Jan 2011 16:45

It looks like either a cock up or we are getting screwed over ticket prices for the Norwich game.

Ticket prices announced on the OS are:
Adults: £31
OAPs (60+): £25
Under 16s: £20
Under 12s: £13

On the Norwich site they have marked this an A grade game so ticket prices are:

Members match prices are from £27 for adults, £22 for over-60s, £17 for under-16s and £10 for under-12s. Season ticket holders and non-members match prices are from £29 for adults, £24 for over-60s, £19 for under-16s and £12 for under-12s.
http://www.canaries.co.uk/page/Tickets/ ... 67,00.html

So we are getting charged the more expensive A+ prices, shurely some mistake!

I wouldn't pay £31 to watch most of the teams in the Prem, let alone Norwich.

Outrageous, ludicrous and utterly unacceptable. I'm 100% out.

Charging away fans more than home fasns... Is that legal?? I expect we'll be getting the best seats in the house for that price! Delia cooking the pre-match pies herself?

It is allowed because they're using the membership scheme as a loophole round the FL pricing regulations.

However, it's a greedy and despicable practice on Norwich's part not to offer reciprocal membership benefits to members of Reading's scheme - especially since Reading does pass reciprocal membership benefits to members of a visiting club's scheme.

Let me see what I can find out tomorrow about the legality of this - I have a contact who knows a lot more about this subject than I do.

Don't you have a limited number of opt-outs each season?

Wasn't it about 30 quid to get into Portman Road last season? How are they justifying this in that area? East Anglia's pretty much like Belarus in terms of economic prospects, landscape and spending power.

This was my first thought when seeing this pricing. The push for promotion is a costly matter.

I was looking forward to this one as it is a good day out.....at £31 they can forget it.

Don't they realise petrol prices have risen in the last three months.

That's actually another point Dirk, they also have the banding wrong. A+ not A

At first I thought the words "from" could mean that the price was actually the same but you can go online and buy a ticket in the same stand for less, in fact pretty well anywhere else in the ground for £29.

Annoyed by the £31, but if you balance it out with the cheap cheap train tickets I booked (£5 e/w) then it's about the same as a normal away day anyway. Not the point, but still a positive.

Until people say no they will continue to fleece football fans, I get the idea that mnay clubs would rather have no away fanes in the ground at all, and almost all clubs would be happier to be able to sell a full 100% allocation of season tickets, rather than the 90% is it now?

100% season tickets would cut down on a lot of admin for the TO, that's for sure. Would also be guaranteed income.

But I think clubs are cautious of doing this as it's much harder for the next generation of fans to come through, so you'd be shooting yourself in the foot long term.

I don't think the phrase "in the long term" is actually in the lexicon of many football clubs tbh
