jonboy29red andy gray has now instructed lawyers over his contract termination from sky

Good for him.
Also digging up that incident from December that he hadn't previously been warned about is oxf*rd scandalous.
That was even more of a nothing incident.

The decision to give Andy Burton a one game ban for his comment of "she's a bit of a looker" is even more staggering. FFS, this comment was made two hours before the game and was also off the air.
WTF are the Sky bosses thinking about? Just giving into stupid public pressure, combined with a media witch-hunt.
Are we now breeding a British public that is so limp-wristed and gets offended by the most lame things?

So sexism is ok in the media?

How is someone saying "she's a bit of a looker" off the air, sexism in the media?

A total over-reaction all-round.

No, it's not.

But Gray/Keys/Burton didn't do this 'in the media' - all three of the comments/actions were off-air, no more or less lewd or inappropriate than conversations we have probably all had with workplace colleagues to some extent. The microphone one is unfortunate, but the SSN presenter was clearly not particularly fussed and I'd be generous enough to assume Gray wouldn't have done it had he not been pretty comfortable she would take it as a joke (I'm assuming they know each other fairly well).

Not excusing his sexism, but if this is a sackable offence then an awkward precedent has been set.

More trouble for Keys as someone has unearthed this clip :

It proves conclusively that Keys gets his material from HNA!

What a strange world we live in, where a man in a cardigan happily drops questions like 'did you smash it?'.

Not to mention the line "Rednapp would be round there hanging out of the back of it...."

Clip now deleted.
Sky would be better off investigating who is leaking these video clips and sack them. Absolutely pathetic.

winchester_royal They've bottled under the PC pressure of self-righteous cretins in the media, and of course the lovely feminist movement, and sacked a guy who has had a cushy number for the last 20 years getting paid large wads of cash for making anodine comments while watching the game he loves for something that every bloke has done quite a few times in their life.

Corrected for you

It is an over-reaction for the very reasons you state.

I had a barney with the missus last night. She loves her football but the following angers her:

Women's football
Women officiating men's football
Women who watch football but don't know what they're talking about

I gave women's football a go and didn't get on with it. Low standard, generally. And slow. But she ALOLed when I watched the women's FA Cup final last season.

And I'm strongly of the belief that if a woman is a competent official, then good for her and the sport. Feck knows we complain about how shit the refs are! Women playing in the same team as men is a different kettle of fish as there are other issues to deal with but let the good refs and linos in.

And if a girl likes watching football then so be it. Let her watch and learn and really get into .

I can't believe that I'm more of a feminist than my wife.

Crikey, you're so forward thinking. Maybe your missus was annoyed about you being patronising?

Fine. Replace 'girl' with 'ignorant being of either gender'. Never too late to learn!

Anyway, she's the one who said they shouldn't be allowed to watch at all!

I'm just not going to communicate with any women in my office from now on, just to be on the safe side.

Can we still have a pop at gingers?

Apparently (according to Mrs RZR), men can be generally objectifying and 'rapey' but not specifically.

So it's okay to go 'phwoar' at Women but not 'phwoar' at a woman.

Mega :| from me, but she's such a little sweetie, etc etc...
