BR2 Not that it might not be relevant but I see in today's paper there is a picture of the Sky girl in a bikini and the accompanying story was that she has previously posed for (and presumably got paid)a lads mag.
This implies to me that she is not averse to earning money by titillating the male species on the basis that it's usually men who buy the lads mags.
I wonder if Andy Gray's lawyers are now approaching whoever took those photos to establish whether the girl ever said anything sexually provocative to the photographer or whether he said anything to her that she accepted at the time to be sexist.
This is not a 60 year-old spinster sunday school teacher who just might have been offended by Gray's suggestion.

Some people might use the example that prostutes can still be raped as a counter argument but I reckon Gray would have had previous banter with this girl and that he has now been stitched up by what I called in earlier posts a creep.
Do we really want an abundance of creeps in our society who delight in snitching?
I don't but maybe some of you on here do and if so I hope that you get snitched upon.

modelling in a lads mag clearly means that people can sexually harass you in future?

Wax Jacket
brendywendy the decision to remove the lino from her next game are frickin stupid decisions, made by nob heads

that's sensible I reckon, they didn't want to make the whole match a televised thing about a young linesman, let them get on with the game. this'll all blow over soon enough and she'll be back and we'll hardly care.

surely it just makes a bigger thing out of the next match shes allowed to do

Fwiw, a (female) colleague of mine answered a team members question earlier this week with 'because you have a small willy'.

Now they have known each other personally outside of work for some time - is it still 'sexual harassment'? If Charlotte took a break from doing the ironing to make a complaint, then fair do's, but there's no evidence she was offended, or even made to feel uneasy, about the comments Gray made. As I said previously - I give Gray enough credit to know if it was something she would take as a joke.

I accept that if you make comments like that you run the risk of getting into a lot of trouble, but I think most people know where the line is with particular people.

yes- if it made the person feel uncomfortable, its harassment
if not then its fine

also if the comment got back to management/HR i still think they may make something of it

i thought she was new to the job at th etime- and therefore i doubt hed built up anything like the knowledge of her he'd need to make that comment acceptable work place fare

It's all getting a bit out of hand really.

I think every single man in my office, and half the women too would be unemployed if some of the sh1t being released now constitutes a sackable offence.

Keys, another cretin.

Yep. I like the inference that a fat man in his mid-50s somehow thinks he has the option on a virile thirty-something woman  .

DelBoyRodders
jonboy29red andy gray has now instructed lawyers over his contract termination from sky

Good for him.
Also digging up that incident from December that he hadn't previously been warned about is oxf*rd scandalous.
That was even more of a nothing incident.

The decision to give Andy Burton a one game ban for his comment of "she's a bit of a looker" is even more staggering. FFS, this comment was made two hours before the game and was also off the air.
WTF are the Sky bosses thinking about? Just giving into stupid public pressure, combined with a media witch-hunt.
Are we now breeding a British public that is so limp-wristed and gets offended by the most lame things?

I'm pretty sure that AG had made a few enemies within Sky and what goes around comes around.

The most surprising thing is that no-ones mentioned that AG shows consistently he has no idea about the laws of the game himself - that's the real irony

I thought that was the primary qualification to be a football commentator...

Theoretically, in my office certainly this kind of thing is a sackable offence. However, banter does go on because people know where to draw the line. If you don't know where to draw the line, despite being warned in the past, and despite the fact that history tells us the inevitable consequence of a broadcaster making off-colour remarks, you're going to get the push. You'd have to be an idiot not to realise that and act accordingly.

I'm not reading all 12 pages so do one if it's already been mentioned, but quite clearly someone has had it in for Keys and Gray - they've been secretly filming and recording them saying sexist stuff - none of it was in the public domain - it's not worse than a couple of blokes chatting down the pub - or what the majority of you say on here about women.

That lineswoman murked them both anyway, because she got the offsides spot on!

Having a camera trained on them as they prepare to go live (in all three cases), is hardly 'secret'.

According to the breaking news strip in the BBC website, Keys has told talkSPORT he is 'considering his position as a Sky Sports football presenter.'

Edit: There's an article about it on the Beeb site now as well:

everybody does it isnt an excuse to do it though, is it?
20 years ago theyd have said the same thing about racism - everybody does it, its just banter, man up, its all lighthearted fun. etc.
but it wasnt, and it isnt, and we arent allowed to do it any more.
