Gloria Gooner
Seal It's all getting a bit out of hand really.

I think every single man in my office, and half the women too would be unemployed if some of the sh1t being released now constitutes a sackable offence.

Theoretically, in my office certainly this kind of thing is a sackable offence. However, banter does go on because people know where to draw the line. If you don't know where to draw the line, despite being warned in the past, and despite the fact that history tells us the inevitable consequence of a broadcaster making off-colour remarks, you're going to get the push. You'd have to be an idiot not to realise that and act accordingly.

agreed- its not the one offence- its three closely related offences

written warning, final warning and sack if it had been me in my workplace
and most likely skip straight to the sack for the first " tuck this in for me" comment, if the lady had made a complaint/or my boss heard about it.

I would like to make the following announcement:

On Saturday the 13th November 2010 as she was stood in front of the North Stand during half time of the Reading - Norwich match I looked at Charlotte Jackson's arse. I now realise that this was inappropriate and would like to announce my resignation from half time intervals with immediate effect.

Royal Lady I'm not reading all 12 pages so do one if it's already been mentioned, but quite clearly someone has had it in for Keys and Gray - they've been secretly filming and recording them saying sexist stuff - none of it was in the public domain - it's not worse than a couple of blokes chatting down the pub - or what the majority of you say on here about women.

That lineswoman murked them both anyway, because she got the offsides spot on!

point is its in the work place- not among mates- and im not sure its been covertly filmed as such- surely there are always video and audio feeds from the studios, and these will be recordable

also it may just have been that he was under watch for this sort of thing due to the previous incedent/disiplinary process.

everybody does it isnt an excuse to do it though, is it?
20 years ago theyd have said the same thing about racism - everybody does it, its just banter, man up, its all lighthearted fun. etc.
but it wasnt, and it isnt, and we arent allowed to do it any more.

I'm with brendy on this.

Also - I've now listened to Keys whole interview with talksport

(can be found here http://www.juicefm.com/news?id=25877 if anyone's interested)

He comes across as a nasty, angry and arrogant little man who is simply sorry he got caught, not actually sorry at all. Didn't really have a view on him before this whole sexism thing kicked off but I'm beginning to really dislike him now.

Do I have to? Quite enjoy the idea of avoiding "play your shirts right".

I agree with Brendy and Red- this was not light-hearted banter, this was nasty... and the analogy with racism is valid.

He and Gray are peas in a pod. If they weren't on the TV they'd be arsehole salesmen who think they rule the roost and stab people in the back to get what they want.

It's an individuals right when at work to be judged purely on their ability to do the job. If you wish to be entirely sexless, that should be respected. I've only had what could be considered sexual harassment when working bars, and it was far from fun. 'Banter' is largely just unprofessional behaviour - yet if you don't go along with it, you often end up suffering career-wise, labelled as a joyless prude. It's no surprise that football, the perfect domain for overgrown teenagers, is rife with this sort of thing.

In short - I agree with Brendy.

You should get some t-shirts done.

Bottom line is you don't see Des Lynam and Jon Motson behaving like this do you.

BR2 ...she has previously posed for (and presumably got paid)a lads mag.

This implies to me that she is not averse to earning money by titillating the male species on the basis that it's usually men who buy the lads mags.

I wonder if Andy Gray's lawyers are now approaching whoever took those photos to establish whether the girl ever said anything sexually provocative to the photographer or whether he said anything to her that she accepted at the time to be sexist.

This is not a 60 year-old spinster sunday school teacher who just might have been offended by Gray's suggestion.

Some people might use the example that prostutes can still be raped as a counter argument but I reckon Gray would have had previous banter with this girl and that he has now been stitched up by what I called in earlier posts a creep.

Do we really want an abundance of creeps in our society who delight in snitching?

I don't but maybe some of you on here do and if so I hope that you get snitched upon.

This really needs to be read at least twice to get the full effect.
