Rumours are Johan Elmander or Jay Bothroyd.
Also Crouch on loan or Carlton Cole. Although Cole did tweet earlier he was at home watching SSN with his feet up.

Cole at West Ham was mooted recently as a target, but with how this money is being thrown about, West Ham could want £15m + at this rate.

Tiny possibility remains that this spending spree is in part an effort to convince Torres to stay - unlikely, sure, but as it stands, Carroll is on a plane to Liverpool, but the 'Pool haven't given Torres the green light to travel south. Last minutes negotiations?
