Silver Fox Ideal's validating Liverpool's decision more and more with each post

It seems rather a lot but it's reassuring to read Ideal's posts.

I will revive this post once Carroll gets suspended for two years for failing a drugs test, or sent away to prison for a couple of years for assaulting a 17-year old woman, or something similar.
This guy is a disaster waiting to happen. How much value for money will he be if he is in prison, or suspended for a failed drugs test?
I do remember reading those stories about his alleged cocaine abuse. It's only a matter of time before he is caught, if he keeps doing it.
Adrian Mutu anyone?

Fair enough. Even a broken clock blah blah blah

soggy biscuit Chelsea have to pick 1 from either Torres or Luis to go into their CL squad.

David Luiz has already respresented Benfica in the tournament though, so is ineligible.

There's also every posibility that the signing will work out and alongside Suarez Carroll will develop further and become a top striker and lead england's line for the next 15 years

but as you've sussed him out already we'll just go with what you say yeah? Someone tell kenny to get rid now

Yes, you've made that point about 10 times now, Ideal.

With regards to who has the better squad - well wouldn't you expect clubs such as City or Chelsea to have better squads given the vast amounts of cash they have spent? Suarez must be the first 'big money' deal sanctioned by a Liverpool board since the Torres purchase four years ago, where the manager hasn't first been expected to sell players. Contrastingly, Man City have signed 6 players around the £25m mark in the last 18 months.

And what SF said^.

Liverpool have paid over the odds for Carroll, but by how much, £10-15m? He'll be worth much more to the club if he helps get them back to the Champions League, never mind anything else he may or may not achieve.

No Fixed Abode They're going to have to sort that pic out on the Kop now...

Just searched the website for 'Torres'. About 500 hits. Airbrushing history takes time comrade - unless you don't have any.

Is Carroll still under the court order that he live at Kevin Nolan's house? Nasty commute if so...

Redknapp tried to buy Phil Neville - but Moyes rejected first bid of 250k, which was later improved to 500k in two installments!

Moyes not impressed

Yep. Harry was getting into the spirit of the occasion yesterday with his scattergun approach to Spanish strikers and the late attempt on Adam. I doubt he was really after any of them, but just fancied a bit of sport.

That was my interpretation of events. He's like the Morcambe and Wise Christmas special of the transfer window.

I liked this from Sid Lowe :I had the strangest dream. Liverpool spent £35m on Carroll and Spurs chased every single striker in Spain to the theme from Benny Hill...

Royal Lady I expect this has been mentioned, but how the mighty have falled - Sidwell goes for £500k.

Which league's he playing in?

And I wouldn't say Sidwell was ever mighty. He chanced his luck at a bigger club for more money, it didn't work out, moved to Villa, didn't work out and now he's at Fulham where he will be on substantially more money and playing Premier League football. If he was down in league 1 or 2 you might have a point.

The fee is undisclosed but 2 million keeps getting mentioned - not 500k. His contract at Villa was up in July...

The Torres transfer will have been worth £10M alone; VAT is at 20%, so on £214M of transfers, the Chancellor pocketed £42.8M.
