Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has failed in his bid to get a charge of tax evasion dropped, alongside his former Portsmouth bosses Peter Storrie and Milan Mandaric.
The three men will stand trial later this year, with Redknapp and former owner Mandaric facing charges relating to their alleged evasion of public revenue payments of around £40,000 and former chief executive Storrie with evading tax in relation to Portsmouth midfielder Eyal Berkovic's contract termination fee in an unconnected case.
Redknapp, 62, has insisted that ''I have done nothing wrong'', but was brought before a Magistrates court in February of last year because of two payments totalling £189,000 allegedly made by Mr Mandaric to him via a Monaco bank account.
The prosecution claims that he evaded tax and national insurance contributions between April 1, 2002 and November 28, 2007, while Storrie, 58, is accused of making an offshore payment to terminate Berkovic's contract on which no tax was declared or paid.
