Career didn't particularly end in a manner fitting with his ability. Graffiti nicknaming him 'The Fat One' at Corinthians' training ground, after the Brazilian side were knocked out of the Copa Liberatadores at the preliminary stage, for the first time in their history.

If it weren't for the injuries while at Inter I would go as far as saying he would have been close to Pele and Maradona.

There hasn't been anyone since R9 and at his peak he had no weaknesses.

Farewell El Gordo :(

Kitsondinho Best player for Brazil in '98

Shame about the French nobbling him and making him too sick to play in the final.

Or Nike, as happened in the real world.........Still think if he had been fit that Brazil would have won in 1998.

The second best Brazilian striker of the past 20 years, seemed ill equipped to mentally deal with that. Here's one of his greatest games, introduced by an unexpected host.

Not quite, R9 actually achieved alot before he got fat whereas Caskey didn't achieve anything.

Apart from captaining the U18's England European Championship winning side I would tend to agree with you.
