Didn't watch the game, but I note that Barca has an away goal. I predict Barca to win the home leg and hence go through.

You predict one of the best sides there has ever been to win at home? Don't go out on a limb, Spacey.

Only true weakness in a formidable side - though of course its easy to point that out right now.

Surely Barca should seek a better keeper....Reina?

Row Z Royal But not the worst they've played this year and didn't domin8 throughout.

And 'prefer Madrid' suggests that it's a SpanishfootballGuillemBallague love-in, rather than just Barca.

Spain = World Champions, passing football and the best players in the world. England = hitting the channels, if in doubt boot it out and marketing men hyping the "Best league in the world". Yeah I do prefer Spanish football and considering the qualolity of the likes of Stoke and Blackburn who can blame me.

I suggest you get down to the local park on Sunday and shout "get rid" and "hit the big man" at little kids to encourage the English national teams next gololden generation of long ball 4-4-2 neanderthals (There's some hope in the brilliance of Wilshere but he won't be able to make Ehgland world class on his own).

Having a goal wrongfully disallowed and that annoying little sod Messi missing two chances that he usually has the rather annoying habit of putting away is dominating it was only when they settled for 1-0 that Arsenal scored the goals.

As I said, well done Arsenal but don't trust those Catalan b'stards not to screw you over at their place.

sandman Worst Barca have played all season and they still dominated the Arsenal throughout until they eased off. I expect it to be like last year and Barca to go through at the Nou Camp comfortably.

But the difference is Arsenal will go into the game with a different attitude, especially if they've just won the league cup. Confidence could play a big part.

yep, if they can just somehow overcome Birmingham they will be unstoppable in the Nou Camp.

You can only beat who is put in front of you.....lifting their first piece of silverware in 5 or so years will give them a HUGE boost for the rest of the season. As well as the fans again believing the glory days could well be back at Arsenal.

How is winning a reserve team tournament that no one - including Arsenal themselves - take seriously going to encourage anyone to believe "the glory days could well be back at Arsenal".

 Do you honestly believe that ^^

The fact Arsenal played their first teamers in the last round proves they want to win it and are taking it seriously.......silverware is silverware, doesn't matter if its the league cup or the league.

It's kind of sad how desperate you Gooners have become when winning the loleague cup is as good as the league to you.

Superb reply :? - the point is, winning the league cup will give them all a boost......i dont see how you can disagree with that.

I guess i win this argument then.

This was the team in the semi final of the league cup
Szczesny, Clichy, Djourou, Sagna (E. Eboue, 18), Koscielny , Arshavin (T. Walcott, 84), Fabregas, Denilson, Wilshere, van Persie (S. Nasri, 84), Bendtner

ALL bar Denilson and Sagna played tonight, against Barca, in the champions league.

But as you say.................................. :|

Yeah should have seen it really........

Soon teams will refuse to play in any competition unless its the champions league - cos everything else is pointless in comparison

That said, if Arsenal play like they have done tonight against teams in the Prem, they'll win the title not United. Please let this happen.

Just digging yourself deeper really.

All I'm saying is how the mighty have fallen now that you require the league cup to boost confidence and provide proof that "the glory days are returning". I just feel sad for a great English club that it's come to this.

I would happily see your brand of football succeed.

Have they fallen though?..........in this day and age, considering they haven't broken the bank then qualifying for the champions league year after year and the ONLY English team to get past the group stages for the past 13 years isn't really saying they've "fallen". Arsenal (as a club) are happy picking up 4th spot but the fans want trophys - so winning the league cup will give the fans their wish which in turn will boost the confidence within the side to (hopefully) win the other 3 competitions they are in this season.

The fact they haven't broken the bank is what has left them with winning the League Cup being the opportunity for their first trophy in 6 years in the first place. Like I say I admire their style of play and trying to develop their own players. Hopefully when "The Best League in the World"©Sky Sports eats its greedy self they will be back on top but from where they were they have fallen.

Yep i agree, and I know what you're saying, but to me, fallen is what Liverpool have done.....Arsenal are always there or there abouts in every competition for years now, yes Arsenal have not won the league for a while, but this season is the best for them than its ever been - hence why winning the league cup could well kick them up another gear :D
