Champions League Final Tickets

by Svlad Cjelli » 17 Feb 2011 20:16

Outrageous prices.

Tickets on sale go on Thursday 24th February and Friday 18th March. Standard match tickets are split into four categories: Category 1 – £300; Category 2 – £225; Category 3 – £150; and Wheelchair £80.

When UEFA moved the Champions League final to Saturday evening they said it was to make the final more family friendly: “It is also hoped that playing the Uefa Champions League final on a Saturday will give families, especially children, the chance to see the game,” said Uefa online.

A “youth package” (one adult and one child ticket) will cost £338.

There's also a £26 "admin fee". Ludicrously outrageous prices.

Exactly. Even more so when the "admin fee" for the Women's CL Final at Craven Cottage the same week is £5. How can there be more than 5 times as much "admin " to sell a Wembley ticket?

Mr. Burns: And to think, Smithers, you laughed when I bought Ticketmaster. [imitating Smithers] "Nobody's going to pay a 100% service charge".

Outrageous prices, but I expect they will all sell. If so you have to wonder whether they could have charged even more, supply and demand and all that. With some Prem ticket prices around £100 a game people will need to stop going before the prices come down.

Why would a Reading fan be bothered about CL final ticket prices?

Isn't £5 the total ticket price, including "admin"?

By which of course they meant, kids will be able to stay up late to watch it on TV cos its not a school night.

Is the pricing intended to drive people to watch the game from the comfort of their house?

The bigger the TV audience, the bigger the advertising market and therefore the bigger the TV rights can be.

Uefa banks on football fans being thick

TICKET prices for the Champion's League final are fresh evidence that the people who run football think the fans might be a bit thick, it emerged last night. Uefa is charging so-called 'neutrals' £176 to see the Wembley finale in what experts have described as one of the finest and most beautifully crafted licences to print money they have ever seen. Wayne Hayes, a season ticket holder from Hatfield said: "Leave it aaaht. A hundred a seventy six nicker? You must think I'm some kind of fackin' moron. Do you take Visa Electron?"

But Uefa insisted the pricing policy is in line with absolutely everything else to do with football.

A spokesman said: "A few years ago we, along with the national football associations of Western Europe, conducted a detailed study of our customer base and were delighted to discover they were all chimpanzees. We couldn't have been happier if they had given us their pin numbers. Naturally, at that point, we decided to just charge whatever we felt like. We are now all very, very wealthy indeed. And it's not just tickets. They will pay anything for anything. This piece of scratchy, highly inflammable Taiwanese nylon is £70. If you want a smaller one for your child that'll be £80. And if you want one for a baby that'll be a £1000."

He added: "When it comes to preying on the feeble-minded it makes Scientology look all fiddly and complicated."
