Manure 1 Crawley Bumlick 0 - what a carve up that was.

Ferguson (spit) - here's the deal, we'll put out a weakened side and allow you to play a bit as long as we get a narrow victory to nil. You get a good day out and a lot of good publicity Oh and half the gate money and the TV revenue.

Evans - Can I go on telly afterwards and give it the "devestated to lose line?"

Ferg - If you must.

Evans - In!

Bloke I work with is a Cambridge Utd fan and absolutely hates Crawley Town. His biggest beef is that their owners are just throwing money at the team, way beyond what anyone else in the Conference can afford.

Kind of hit home when Crawley brought on a striker they'd paid £300,000 for.

Yeah, of course its jealousy, but its bad for football, it creates a false economy. Can a team who pull in a mere 900-odd for home games really afford 300K transfer fees let alone whatever wages? Financial doping they call it. Tbh, if an oil rich sheikh took over and started throwing millions around with Reading I'd be rather worried about the sustainability of it all. I bet that the Cambridge supporter would be similarly minded if someone invested big in his club. Can you not see that bigger picture?

Crawley had 40 fans for their away game at Wrexham in the week. 9000 at Old Trafford.

His biggest worry at the moment is that if Cambridge don't start winning games (they've got 1 pt from the last eight games apparently), they will get relegated, and then there's no way they will attract the crowds to pay the rent on the Abbey Stadium, which isn't owned by the club any more.

Doubtful. As Crawley is in West Sussex, most of them are probably Manure "supporters" anyway...

Not sure why Man Utd get such a bad beatdown due to their fans 'not' coming from Manchester.

On SSN the other day they were interviewing 'Liverpool' fans and non of them had a Scouse accent. It was either Southern or Irish.
