It's hard to fathom what sound could merit being represented by 'Szcz'.

Arch It's hard to fathom what sound could merit being represented by 'Szcz'.

Sz translates as Sh
Cz translates as Ch

So I would say Shchesni

Well you have to nasalise the e of Szczesny... The Szch bit sounds the same as the shch of 'pushchair'... and the 'ci' needs particular care.

I'd say the last guess was closest. Something like 'VOI-tsyeH shchENSnee' with a hard H at the end of the forename.

Just call him Happy and be done with it.

The first name is pronounced 'voy-check'. It's quite a common Polish name.

.

the link actually has someone from Poland saying the name, so it wasn't really a guess as such.

I believe it's pronounced 'Clown', best ending to a cup final ever, couldn't happen to a nicer bloke than Wenger.

Between Koscielny and Szczęsny, a proud new chapter has been written in Polish football history

Seaman and Adams would never have made that error.

Why doesn't Wenger just bite the bullet and spend some of the £50m profit on a new keeper (Reina) and centre half (Cahill)

In 4 competitions but could be only 1 in a matter of weeks
