SLAMMED If I say I'm going running for a minimum of 5 minutes, that doesn't mean I'm limited to 5 minutes at 59 seconds.

What is the difficulty in understanding that?

If they say a minimum of 4 minutes additional time, the game can go on further than the 4 minutes.

But if you were intending at that point to run for more than 5 minutes, you'd say a minimum of 5 minutes. Therefore we know that at the point the ref decided on how much to add, pre stopage time, we know it was something between 4 and 4.59.

But more time can be added on by the ref within added time.

If he indicates a minimum of 5 minutes additional time, and a player goes down for 10 minutes in the 2nd minute of added time, he can end the game after 15 minutes of stoppage time.

handbags_harris If anybody says Birmingham's defensive performance today was quite superb then go and watch another sport please. A quite superb performance.

Is this a retirement notice? Or have I misunderstood

 Quite.

Hmmm...that's a bit of an embarrassing statement :|

If anybody says Birmingham's defensive was not quite superb then go and watch another sport please. A quite superb performance.

Either way, minimum of 4 minutes + no stoppages = 4 minutes played. End of. Not 4 minutes 40 seconds.

Of course it can, but the referee is anticipating ending the game around that number that's why the board for 4minutes goes up. If it was more he would say 5 or 6. Of course things can happen in stoppage time which will adjust that number after it's been announced.

If he says 4minutes and nothing else happens to stop the game he SHOULD blow up between 4mins and 4 mins 59seconds. He did that today. So I don't see what the issue is/was.

Sort of digressing away from the point whihc is very much arsenaLOL.

FFS it's not exact, it's to the nearest whole minute. Otherwise the ref either has to discount any stopages that don't add up to a full minute, or the 4th official has to hold up a board accurate to the second.

Jesus Christ.

No where do I say any different. That's why I said 4.00 - 4.59 + any additional stopages

Has someone let loose a retard virus whilst I wasn't looking and dropped the average HNA IQ from 80 to 13?

Why is Hernandez allowed to have his nickname of Chiquarito on his shirt? That's like letting Manset have "The Beast" shirley? :|

Which I believe he could have if he so wanted. Happens much more in other countries than England. Some foreign players do it here though.

You do realise that 'Robinho' is not actually Robinho's name?

'Hulk' is probably the most embarasing one though

Yes, but not arbitrarily.

It's 4 minutes + any additional time needed as a result of "stoppages" during that 4 minutes which can then make it more than 4 minutes by the end.

Not 4 to 4:59 minutes + any additional time needed as a result of "stoppages" during that 4 minutes.

FFS, it's not complicated.

FFS, minmum doesn't mean the ref can allow play to continue for another 59 seconds without reason. It's 4 mins + any additional stopages, not 4 to 4:59 + any additional stopages.

FFS, think about it, if the refs had this discretion they'd be uproar if he allowed play to continue for another 59 secs without reason and the other team scored. There's enough problems as it is agreeing the amount of additional time that may be needed beyond the original added time without refs adding time on on a whim.
