Up or Down?

What should the club policy be?

I hear people moan that the club is not ambitious enough to push for promotion

I hear others wishing the club was at a level where you can stand and have a beer.

Lets be honest, a small fan base, close to the club, standing having a beer while watching us play man u / arsenal / chelsea / liverpool or whoever is a long way off so saying "both" is not an option. It just can't happen in this day and age.

So what do you want? What should the club's policy be over the next 5 years? which direction would you prefer?

Do you want the club to show ambition, bigger support and the top level leagues

or do you want to go down the leagues to a place where the club was closer to its small fan base, and you could stand and have a beer?

Whilst I can understand that people enjoyed the elm park days more, better atmosphere, more local relaxed feel and connection to the club - I was too young to appreciate them properly unfortunately, surely noone would want the club to go backwards?

I am in the middle to be honest, but I would like to see the club progress as much as possible whilst remaining financially stable. I personally quite like the championship and missed out on a lot of the premiership as I was out of the country.

I would like us to be challenging each season and as long as we can do that Im happy and do not really expect much more. I will still go and enjoy the football where ever we are playing, shed or plastic stadium.

We are what we are and people spend to much time fussing about something they cant actually really change and is out of their hands

all of cause my opinion and will not be the same as many on here

Not too sure really. Football is about enjoying the game, but then would you really sacrifices having a good team and challenging for trophies with that?

Undecided.

At what level can you stand and have a beer?

I've done that at Maidenhead, and as nice as standing on the terrace with a beer is, I don't really fancy dropping to the Blue Square South to do it.

Yes, there is something I miss about lower division football of the past (and it certainly wasn't the football generally) but the Madejski is awful below about 12000, so I wouldn't welcome a return.

This is a silly question really. If we could go back to Elm Park I'd possibly say it would be good to go back to the days when we were completely shit and we were lucky to get 10k, but that's obviously never going to happen. As someone as already said, small crowds at the Madejski are painful. People have just got to accept that the best we can ever hope for is to maybe get promoted again and have the odd cup run.

Was happy to see little old Reading in the Prem for those two seasons, shame was not more, but there have been many others that have done the same, this division is full of ex prem teams.
