359 .... and counting!

by Svlad Cjelli » 22 Feb 2011 14:51

Currently, the Football Supporters Federation has 359 members registered as Reading supporters – that’s the 16th highest of the 92 English League clubs, and higher than Derby, Forest, QPR, Birmingham, Bolton, Blackburn, Wolves, WBA and both Sheffield clubs, amongst others.  But you can help boost that number even further.

If you’re a match-going supporter, there’s really no reason why you shouldn’t be a member of the FSF – it only takes a minute to sign up and it’s absolutely free.  Register with your postal address  and you’ll even be sent a free copy of "The Footballer Supporter" magazine.

But apart from that, you get your voice heard in the nationally recognised organisation for football supporters – and the more who join the louder that collective voice is.  The FSF provides legal and other advice to both supporters and supporters’ organisations, as well as running campaigns to benefit supporters and holding regularly meetings with football’s decision-makers.  There are also two Reading supporters on the FSF’s National Council.

For more info, go to http://www.fsf.org.uk, and to join simply go to http://www.fsf.org.uk/join and fill out the form there.

On a point of order, you don't. You have to pay for it.

But the weekly email newsletter is excellent.

I get the email newsletter and I've never paid a penny. In fact I think I may have registered twice because I get it on my personal and work account.

Are the figures for number of subscribers from each club available online?

I have been a member since before the merger of the FSA and Supporters Clubs to make the FSF so appreciate the fact it is now free.

I think they give new members one free copy of the Football Supporter to get them to subscribe for it. It is a good read covering international down to non-league and not just a premiership focussed mag.

You get a free sample of TFS (one copy) after joining.
