season ticket Refund??

by jonboy29red » 28 Mar 2011 20:06

so would the club follow this lead ???

Derby County have offered season ticket holders a money-back guarantee if they are upset about the club's transfer activity during the close season.

Chief executive Tom Glick has vowed to give disgruntled Rams fans refunds on their tickets at any point before the new campaign gets underway in August.

Glick told BBC Radio Derby: "If you are not happy with the side we put together, you can get your money back.

"It's about holding us to account and supporters judging us by our actions."

Glick also said supporters will also be given more time to decide if they want to renew their season tickets for the 2011/12 campaign.

"We have pushed the deadline for renewal on to 15 May because supporters have been concerned about what division we will be in," Glick added.

To be fair, I've not spoken to a Derby fan who is definitely going to renew anyway.

I've only heard that from about 8 people, but still.

It's a nice touch, but RFC will NEVER do that imo.

The big difference is that while potential Reading ST purchasers don't know what league the team will be in next season they're looking upwards, while Derby are looking downwards - or at least not upwards.

RFC have lucked out by the team hitting form at the right time, so PL football is a possibility next year and at the renewal price many will gamble on that potential good deal - no-one will be thinking like that at Derby.

You could say they have lucked in, if it means they get the renewals in then the overal hit for one season is not that great really. A couple of million, wages for a player, or fee for a player.

Agreed - but lucked in compared with what ST sales might have been if we were now headed for certain mid-table mediocrity.

I think the only thing Reading should do is set the deadline for renewal to 15 May. This would allow Familys who are strapped for cash the chance to save up.

Also as its for renewals it would not have an adverse affect on new sales as these sales can still occur whilst tickets are being held for renewal.

Also May 15 would give ample time for cash to be recieved before the transfer window opens

If only there had been a multi-page discussion on ST renewals eh?!

The Derby team can't get much worse over the summer.

Ours won't get better.

That's the difference.

Why the  ? We have a decent team that might get plundered by bigger sides over the summer (assuming we don't go up of course).

Derby are shit, and getting worse. Any transfer activity can only improve their team - which is effectively what their chief exec is saying.

TFF makes a fair comment. We'll lose Long and possibly another, maybe Kebe or McAnuff. Unless we get lucky with a couple of cheap/free replacements then the squad will be weaker next season.

3% balance transfer on a CC, why would we get worse if we go up?

Derby are not going up this season.

Derby are not going up this season.

I think they mean we could be playing a lot worse next season if we lose key players. Or something.
